My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat and I spoke so highly of SOHO. We came at 9:04 and were seated/ordering by 9:10. The hostess kindly told us they closed at 10 and that wasn’t a problem for us. We would have been out very quick since we were hungry. A waitress with pink highlights, came over and was not very welcoming. Safe to say she’s not a people person. My boyfriend had suggested maybe we just get it to go since they obviously didn’t want us in here. What sold that deal for us was when the waitress came back and said “is any of this for to go?”. I had said no, but when I changed my mind she seemed “surprised” that I wanted to leave. It’s not like we came in at 9:45 asking for a full course meal. Usually restaurants serve you until 10 but I guess the standards are changing. Maybe they should have a no dine in policy after 9 if it’s a big issue.

The service was literally awful, I don’t even want to talk about the server’s attitude for no reason; when every time she comes with food we said thank you despite her face and attitude. I am also working at the customer service, but this is not how we act to our customers. It was a really shame. Sushi was ok nothing special but general tso’s chicken was really good.

This is my favorite spot for Japanese food in or around Albany. The fish is always fresh and reasonably priced. I have to stop myself from ordering here every week. I love the ambience in the restaurant as well. They have a beautiful bar and decorated plant wall in the dining room. Very good restaurant

I almost don’t want to do a review of this place because I like that it’s not packed.But it’s 100% worth checking out. The fact that you’re not limited just by sushi you can get Chinese Thai and sushi or hibachi style food makes this place amazing everything is on point from the soups to the appetizers. I highly recommend the rock shrimp right down to the sesame chicken it’s real chicken not overly breaded. The sauce is just completely sticky and amazing. It’s definitely worth checking out, and that’s why I gave it five stars. Well done Soho. Well done!
