We had our wedding reception at La Novella on Sunday, August 31st, and it turned into a very upsetting experience.
When we booked, Michael (the owner) was so friendly and offered us $50 per person, with soft drinks included and wine at $30 a bottle. We had 40 guests and 10 bottles of wine. The math is simple: the total should have been around $2,300, maybe $2,500 with the extra drinks. Instead, we were charged over $4,000 plus tip. The wines weren’t even finished, and the “included” soft drinks were never provided.
We had already paid a $500 cash deposit, but it’s obvious he didn’t apply it to the bill. My father-in-law was only given a credit card transaction slip that night, not an itemized receipt. When we went back to ask for a copy, Michael lied and said he had already given it to my father-in-law (he didn’t). He flat-out refused to provide one and hung up on me when I called back to ask him to review the charges.
This is shady and dishonest behavior. On top of that, the room was roasting hot even though we were told there would be AC, and several guests complained but nothing was done.
Our wedding reception should have been a happy, stress-free memory. Instead, we left feeling cheated, disrespected, and extremely upset. Michael was rude, dismissive, and refused to double-check his own mistake.
⚠️ Stay away from this restaurant. If you care about honesty, transparency, and professionalism, this is not the place to trust with your special events.

I drive past LaNovella as my mom lives in East Meadow. I had never been here before but it was such a nice experience. The food was so delicious and enough for 2 meals. Baked clams were so awesome. Our waitress, Kendall was just a doll. Definitely will be back!

Last night 6-25-25 the Nassau County Camera Club had their awards dinner there with twenty four members attending. The dinners and service were outstanding. Michael could not do enough for us, as always. All of our guests were very impressed. Personally I have had many parties there and have recommended LaNovella to many people. Try it, you will love the food!

This place has always been an amazing place for as far back as I can remember going there. Michael the owner is one of the most genuinely nice guys I've ever met. The food is next level amazing. The other night, I had the fish special (Lemon Filet of Sole Oreganata) and it was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I also tried some of the other dishes and had a bunch of appetizers. Not 1 dish was less than perfect. Couples: if you're looking for a great romantic place to have dinner, this is your choice. They also have a seperate room for dining and a covered patio that has been turned into a huge open area for dining that has a bar outside. It looks amazing and is such a great environment. This is 5 star dining hands down and across the board. Thank You Michael and the whole Staff for giving my daughter, nieces and father in law an amazing birthday dinner. We all had an amazing night and dinner together.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! Had my divorce party here and it was FABULOSO. I ordered the salmon and it was a smash for sure. My girlfriends loved the red wine. The staff was very professional when my ex-boyfriend came in and tried to hit my current boyfriend who I also had at the party to celebrate our engagement. When my ex-husband showed up to also hit my now boyfriend, the staff kicked him out IMMEDIATLEY. Such great people. Will definitely be coming back for my wedding reception!!

Went 12/21/24 Saturday night, the waiter interrupts me while I’m talking several times, he barely speak English, when I first got there the bus boy is suggesting I change my seat for some reason after I’m already seated. You figure the staff be more professional since it’s a small business

Grew up on Long Island. Left 20 years ago. Came back to visit some friends and we went to La Novella. The owners, the waitress and the food were all just fantastic! And I have been to many restaurants. The next time I visit Long Island this will the place I dine. Thank you so much for your hospitality, warmness, great food and service! ?
