On our way home from a day out, we decided to stop in for a few sandwiches. We call it a hidden gem. Quaint Kosher Deli, maybe 10 tables to sit for a quick bite or take out. I believe we were greeted by the owner - so nice and very welcoming. We sat at a table with menus, and he took our drink order, returning with drinks, a bowl of Cole slaw and a bowl of pickles. The Cole slaw was delicious, a little sweetness to it, not drowning in dressing. I ordered the Corned Beef on rye sandwich and my husband ordered the pastrami with Swiss cheese and a side of fries. My Corned Beef was tender and delicious, as was the rye bread. A perfect amount of meat, a decent portion for 1 person. Same with my husband's pastrami. The fries were a crinkle ends cut. Crisp on the outside, a nice potato on the inside - perfection!! They also gave us a sample of the sweet potato fries, which were equally as good, a nice sweet potato flavor. Notable mention to the pastrami knish and kasha knish that we noticed in the case and looked enticing - we will definitely try next time!! They also offer home made egg creams for those who enjoy them!

I've been going here for many years. Because of illness I was not able to come for quite a while. Upon my return I was pleasantly surprised to see the business still existed. Unfortunately the food is not the quality that it used to be. Don't get me wrong they still make a good sandwich. But it is not worth the price tag it carries. Ten years ago yes but not now. The man I met there said he has owned this business for the last 30 years. But that's not true. And the quality of the sandwich proves it. I took my son here for lunch. Two sandwiches one drink and a Kanish came out to fifty dollars. That's a hefty price tag for a sandwich that was Just very good. Especially when you take into consideration that this was just on a roll. It was not a hero which in the old days you could get. So now you're paying hero prices but getting a sandwich on a roll. The quality of the meat could have made up for it but it fell short. The atmosphere is as it has been for many years.... filthy.

We bought 2 sandwiches, 1 corned beef and swiss, 1 pastrami mustard and swiss, and a knish which totaled 45 dollars. For that price the sandwiches should be stuffed. It was a child size portion at best and they were barely warm. Flavor was okay, but way under portioned and way over priced. Google will not let me upload a photo for whatever reason :( Just disappointed. Still waiting for the plus in pastrami plus.

Had a hot pastrami on the, matzah ball soup and a Brooklyn egg cream.First thing you notice is the display of vintage seltzer bottles. While the bottles at the table are for decoration, the egg cream is made with seltzer from this vintage bottle. The owner graciously made the egg cream in front of me, and it was amazing!The pastrami is juicy and flavorful, and the matzah ball soup is very hearty, comforting and warming.

I didn't plan on eating at Pastrami Plus but once I got there I was kind of intrigued. There aren't many delis like this that are reliable aside from Ben's or Pastrami King.Inside the place isn't huge. There are just a few tables and thankfully there was parking when I got there with my party of 3.Service was the best part. The folks at the counter were super nice and patient as we looked over the menu. We quickly had Cole slaw, pickles and beverages on our table. Minor ding for the fact that it was late and they weren't jammed but our table wasn't wiped down from the previous diners.I ordered pastrami (lean) and fries with a Diet Coke. My son got a hot dog. My wife got a corned beef sandwich.The pastrami was moist and warm but the texture felt off. There was none of the crisp snap that a pastrami sandwich should have. It wasn't overstuffed either. I usually end up grazing on pastrami for a few minutes before biting into the sandwich just to make the sandwich a manageable size to bite into. The joy of my time honored tradition was really lost here. The pastrami didn't have a lot of flavor and if this is cooked on premises, it was vastly undercooked. In comparison to Ben's Deli, there was no contest in terms of the food quality.My son said the hot dog was actually tasty. My wife had the same evaluation of the corned beef as I had of the pastrami.As for my fries, they were mostly shorter than a thumb. Not many long fries at all.We agreed once in the car that this was a "one and done" visit here. If I was in a mall in the Midwest, this might pass for New York hot pastrami. That this is on Long Island and Ben's Deli is maybe another 20 minutes further west makes this really massively disappointing.Mind you, Ben's isn't what it used to be. Still, their pastrami is. It has snap and crunch to it which is what makes a pastrami sandwich so magical. If this was my one night in NY and this was what I received as a Jewish deli experience I would be pretty disappointed.Check was about $51 for 2 sandwiches, one fries and one hot dog. I tipped $11 and paid an even $62.
