Service was impeccable, food was truly outstanding. First time there, will return and highly recommend to others
I had been to The Carlton several years ago and when I got back in the area I knew where I had to go. This was a special occasion and I couldn't think of a better place to take my girlfriend, she had never been there before and it was the perfect place. The wait staff were attentive but not overbearing, the wine choices were excellent for the choices of dishes and the food was excellent. Just as I remembered.
We were disappointed with very slow service (1 hour wait for appetizers). The wine list was sub par and the food just ok at best. My companions had undercooked duck, but were too frustrated to send it back. There are much better choices. We wanted a special meal; for now I would avoid this venue.
Very nice place. It was date night for me and my wife and she really liked the setting, food and wine. Definitely would go back.
We were married here 11 years ago and visit yearly for our Anniversary. The food is awesome and it brings back a lot of great memories.
Very disappointed. Nothing like the place used to be when I came here many years ago. We chose this place for a special celebration based on our memories of the place and the description in Open table of most "beautiful and romantic".. It was neither of that.! There were not flowers, no candles, no music, and the fireplace not working.. The place was very cold, literally.! My wife had to eat with the jacket on her shoulders. Not comfortable at all! The duck that I ordered was excessive dry and fat. The lobster and beef was nice presented, but the taste nothing special. It reminded me a catering hall food. The service was very good and the waitress was very nice. That's the only positive. For those prices there are many better choices. This one, I don't recommend at all
THE PLACE WAS TO COLD TO SIT AND ENJOY DINNER, NO ONE WAS IN THE DINNING ROOM, THE WAITER AND STAFF- LEFT US FOR DEAD, THEY WERE TO BUSY SOCIALIZING, WE HAD TO KEEP CALLING FOR THEM AND EVEN HAD TO KNOW ON THE KITCHEN DOOR POOR SERVICE , FOOD WAS GOOD NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE
We've come in the past for special occasions but the price fixe is so ridiculously over- priced for what you get I had to write. $110 for some sliced up filet, a Caesar salad, and a small dessert in their 1992 rose tile decor is so insulting I am still beating myself up for going there and getting robbed like we did. Off the charts negative for value, so many other better places to go....
Not at all what it used to be just a few years ago. The food was okay, but reminded me of standard catering hall food. The side veggies were super mushy (carrots and squash). The mashed potatoes were room temperature. The crème brûlée barely had a glaze on top. On a night where there were literally two other parties dining in the large dining room, we were seated right next to the swinging kitchen doors, kitchen things clanging, with wait staff in and out, and chatting by the bar. We had a reservation. My husband and I were each brought a single, small piece of bread before dinner. It was just ... underwhelming, for a place I used to love. I won't be returning.
We did not know that the Palm Court has a cigar lounge above it when we booked our reservation. We would not have gone had we known. The cigar smoke smell was fairly strong, and we could smell it through our masks when we walked in.The food was decent and mostly reasonably priced. The service was good and all staff wore their masks. The decor was dated but pretty. They did have it decorated for the holidays, which was nice.If you’re sensitive to smoke I wouldn’t recommend going unless you can get a table near the windows.
Restaurantji Recommends
So 1st off we had a private party down stairs which was amazing, the food is,and has always been excellent no matter what part of the building you are in,and I know this to be true because I've been from top to bottom. The outside is beautifully decorated for the holidays as an added bonus
Such a disappointing evening all around. although everything looked beautiful the service was horrible we sat at 6:05 for a 6:15 reservation and it took an hour before we were asked or given drinks and bread The server was apologetic but it did not make our evening any better. it was 2 and a 1/2 hours of waiting around. so dissatisfied and so disappointing for such a special holiday and evening

This is one of my favorite go to restaurants for special occasions. The food selection, ambiance and service are excellent. In the warmer weather the outdoor seating is lovely too. They have heat lamps, but we decided to eat inside a few days ago since it was a bit breezy and the evening was chilly.
I hosted my bridal shower here only to be surprised with no AC during a heat wave on 8.14.21. My guests and I were sweating with only 2 fans in the room to cool us off. The staff was not accommodating or professional. The food was good, but the customer service was underwhelming. I was offered another room one hour to my event start time, however for my small havana themed party, it was not appropriate. I have sent several emails to management with no response. Again, this was an absolute nightmare. Be cautious when booking here. You will be ignored and neglected for your event.
