What a find in the Double Tree Hotel in East Syracuse, NY! We stopped for the night in East Syracuse on our way to Boston. We arrived late into the city and were looking for a place for a late-night meal. We lucked out with the find of the Season Tavern inside the Double Tree Hotel.Our first choice was the Salt City Smashed Burger. Excellent stay! The staff here were FANTASTIC from the check in staff to the morning buffet staff. Shout out to Jason at the buffet. He was great! Very friendly. We had a really great experience at this hotel. Walked in, booked last minute late in the evening and they were still able to accommodate rooms next to each other for us. Wish I could remember the front check in guys name because he was also amazing. Our rooms were very clean and beds were comfy. No complaints on this...
To get one thing out of the way first, this sprawling property is a bit dated. But the service is above and beyond (eg paying an overpriced taxi fare when my flight was delayed until after the shuttle stopped running) Their food and bev was excellent value: $6 beers and a $16 breakfast buffet with custom omelets was a revelation after coming in from NYC. Great hot tub and indoor pool as well.
