Updated to add: Since writing my initial review below, just 24 hours ago, they have changed wing prices to $1/wing, 10 wings maximum, and the special only runs from 5-7. Really bummed about the change. I won't be changing the number of stars here but definitely will be visiting less frequently, as the time change and price jump doesn't work for me --------- If I could recommend one place in the Hudson valley for wings, it's the anchorage. They are SO good! Wing night is on Thursday and they are 75cents/wing with a max of 15 per person. The wings aren't small and lacking in meat like a lot of places and the flavor is incredible. This place is definitely off the beaten path (tucked inside of a boat marina) and parking is a bit small so I recommend carpooling if you can. Super relaxed and casual atmosphere. No frills or unnecessary add-ons. Just good food and a good time. Service can be a little slow, but that may be because we went on wing night. I'd say be prepared to spend a little time there. Definitely not a dine and dash. We didn't partake in the drinks but they have $5 margaritas and they looked delicious. If you love wings, you'll love this place

It is a good place to go for American food. We ordered a couple of Italian dishes from the menu and were disappointed.

Wings are decent as are the sandwiches and burgers, atmosphere (at least on the bar side) is a bit unwelcoming to newcomers imo.

My son had dined previously there, and suggested it as an alternative to some of the national chains we enjoy. He and I dined and enjoyed well prepared and portioned dinner entrees. There was a cozy feel about the dining room, the staff and patrons were friendly.Parking: Overlooking the waterfront, flat, about a hundred feet from the entrance.

Pretty horrible experience menu was limited to 7 food items, when we orderd we got our food before we even got our drinks. The item I order came with flavorless fries and prepackaged apple sauce that came with....... A fork to eat it with. Granted I did ask for a spoon and was granted one very fast so props to the server. The one good thing I can say is that the chicken was very crispy, bland but unlike the fries they didn't taste like horse s**** Also the red solo cups they served our water in remind me of a family barbecue

For years, I had never heard of the Anchorage. So when it was suggested to meet there for dinner, I had to look to see where it was. It being on a nice side road off of Rt213 in Eddyville makes for a fairly private place to enjoy a meal or just a drink. So we met there on a weekend night in February, 2023. We figured that not many people will be boating and camping in winter, so it would probably be quieter. But to not take chances, we had reservations. We met in the bar first which had a nice country decor. I liked the display of beer taps mounted in array near the ceiling. The bar had a seat or two available when we arrived. But our group had a drink at a table instead. It had a jukebox mounted on the wall that looked like a tankless water heater. So it was a far cry from the old Rockola's from back in the day. It also costs a whole lot more per song. We didn't order a drink in the bar, as our friends were almost done with theirs. So we waited to be seated instead. We then proceeded into the dining room. It had an old country feel to it as well. There were probably a dozen tables or so. But it also had a piano and a recliner as well. We were not sure what the recliner was for, but maybe just to give it that homey feel.We were in by no means in a hurry, and that was good. There was only one table when we were seated. A third table came in right behind us. Then a couple more as time went on. There was just the one waitress to handle the dining room. She was very nice.We ordered one round of drinks with our diner. Although it turned out to be a before diner drink. We ordered water after the one drink, and our friends second. We also had plenty of time for my light beer to dissipate. As I read in other reviews, things move pretty slow here. As such it took quite a while for our drinks to come out. Then it took another half hour for the soup and salads to come out. Then it took quite a while more for dinner to come out. But we were fine with it as it gave us time to talk and enjoy our friends company. All in all we were there over three hours. But to be fair, the last half hour or so was us talking since the other folks started to clear out and no one else seemed to be coming in since closing time wasn't far off.The food was good. Some of us really liked it. Others felt it was okay, but not overly special. But nobody felt that it wasn't good. We didn't order dessert since we were full enough. The check came with one round of drinks, then water. Plus our meals with no appetizers or desserts. With a good tip, it was almost $50 per person. It was definitely more expensive than I would have expected. But not drastically so, and it seems to be like that everywhere in this area, including chain and fast food restaurants. All in all, I found The Anchorage to be a nice homey feeling restaurant that allowed us to have a nice long meal with friends, that we pretty much enjoyed all aspects of. Would it be so accommodating in the busier summer months, probably not. But so far we had a nice meal and a nice first impression of The Anchorage.Parking: Parking can be a little tight having both a restaurant and bar in the building. But for the most part it was adequate.
