They forgot to make our order for over an hour and then instead of apologizing for the mistake, pretended our food was just taking a long time to make. Tsk tskFood was just

I have been going to diners in the northeast all my life and I was so impressed by Elizaville. Absolutely delicious food, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful space. The chef's attention to quality shines through in the dishes. We ordered the pancakes and hash and both were made from scratch. Coffee was fantastic and I just can't say enough good things. Can't wait to go back!!

Absolutely city kitschy. Don't comment on their Facebook page. They block you. No locals want a deli, book nook and expensive alcohol. We want to run in, grab a quick sandwich and snacks on our way to go fishing. I hope the Troopers check the area with their bogo drinks.

Clean, friendly and good food for our lunch group. Local brewery Vosburgh beer sold and is excellent.

Love the new(ish) menu and the physical space is perfect. Everything you'd want in a diner.

Came for breakfast with my wife for the first time since the new owners and had a horrible experience, it started with the music that was so loud we couldn’t hear each other talking, second was my wife asked for a BLT with no tomato and was told she couldn’t order that before 11 am….really?? Toast with bacon and lettuce that is served for breakfast normally???? And last, not once did the waitress come over and ask us if everything was okay or if we needed or wanted anything else!

This diner is not for the locals who lived and grew up here. This is gentrification at its finest. The goal is not to serve the public in this small town that used this place for GENERATIONS to stop and get much needed supplies if they could not reach the main stores in Red Hook or Hudson. This was a place where you could count on a generous serving and could feed your kids if you are living out in this area without reliable transportation. This does not have the local feel anymore. It seems like these new owners, not from this area, want to create a destination for other people who may have thought "how quaint, a little country store, how charming" and saw dollar signs that have trickled down to higher prices and smaller serving sizes for the people who are getting squeezed out of the area by gentrification. The energy of the new owners is not for us folk who have lived here our whole lives. This is about the owners and for the owners. The food tastes good but the entire vibe that comes from these people does not make it worth the stop for me and for many other people I speak to who are not online and know how to leave a review...they just look elsewhere. I hope someone else opens another deli for the locals to go, this is such a shame.

It is great to be able to say, "Let's meet at the diner." again.ps the front doors open smoothly now, and that sets the tone for the easy peaceful place it is.

I'd like to start this review off by saying that we love coming to the elizaville deli (and frequent very much) and were very excited that the diner had re-opened.When we first arrived at the elizaville diner, around noon, it was great to see that the diner was bustling with people enjoying their meals. We waited about 10 minutes as the hostess at the door said she needed some time to clear a table for us. Not a big deal.We get sat, and of course we already knew what we wanted to order, as this was our second time dining at the diner since its re-opening. Ordered the "rise and shine," the new "creme brulee french toast," a soda, and orange juice. There was a considerable delay in receiving our food and drinks, about 50 minutes after ordering. Another table beside us had been seated after us and within minutes had their order and check before we asked our server to check on our food. Our server had explained that there was a mistake on entering our order. Our issue was that there was no awareness on our server that multiple tables were being sat, food eaten, and checking out when your guests who have been seated for more than a natural time has nothing on the table or been checked on in any matter. We appreciated the honesty and kindness our server had and she was very apologetic, but you'd like to think that when you go to a restaurant/diner that you are being taken care of with the best hospitality. The delay and lack of attention were disappointing, and we were very upset about this. Fortunately, it was made up by the good food. As for the food, the order was a little wrong (not the biggest deal, people are human and mistakes happen, we enjoyed it never the less), but again, this still contributed to the overall experience. When you're dining somewhere, regardless of the time or crowd size, it's important to have that awareness, attentiveness, and communication. When we left, it was about 1:30pm and the initial crowd during the lunch rush had all gone. The entire diner had cleared out and we were basically the last to leave, yet the service and attention to our table did not match the changing dynamics of the restaurant.I’m hoping through our feedback that management can contribute to the improvement of their service quality.

Delicious food and great service. We had the chicken sandwich and cheeseburger both were perfect. They make their own brioche buns ...so soft and fresh. Fries are delicious. Breakfast also looked awesome and we loved the coffee. We are looking forward to our next visit.
