Awesome mom & pop creamery - impressive variety of choices, crave-satisfying tastes, efficient and friendly staff. Enough flavors to keep you returning if possible. We were craving some ice cream after a 6 mile hike on Peekamoose and this did the job way better than what we expected. 10 stars.
I’ve been on a tour of ice cream shops in the area—so far Cherries, Sleeping Giant, and Barthel’s. I think Barthel’s wins for me, because they have 5 different flavors of soft serve: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cotton candy, and I think pineapple. I got the strawberry and it actually tasted like strawberry, rather than something artificial! In terms of prices, they are very high—that small cone dipped in rainbow sprinkles was $5. Really solid ice cream. They have a ton of unique flavors. The locally made option is definitely the move. I really liked the rum raisin and mango lasso flavors. Definitely recommend making a stop if you are in the area.
