Overall a delicious meal. We went on a Saturday which was steak night and a three source set menu. The steak was a little tough even when cooked at medium rare but tasted great. The ginger cake for dessert was delicious but so big. It was like the entire cake on a plate! A great atmosphere and perfect for a date night.
Food was delicious and wait staff were very friendly and attentive.

Up until today, we have had great experiences at Rye. However, we went for brunch today for my in-laws 40th anniversary and were wildly disappointed. I cannot speak on the food because we never got any.
We sat for almost 20 minutes waiting for the server to come take our orders, who admittedly said he forgot we were sat in his section. We ordered mostly water for the table and 2 people got mimosas, which came out very quickly. After 30 minutes, there were no other drinks at the table. We told another staff member we hadnât gotten any drinks who said he would take care of it. Another 10 minutes went by so I told ANOTHER staff member that we still hadnât gotten our food and was told they would âget it right now and go find our serverâ. We watched table after table get served, get refills on their drinks, and leave, over the course of the hour that we were there. The server never checked back, the other two staff members never followed through on getting our water. When I said âyou can cancel our food order, weâre gonna goâ the server shrugged his shoulders and said âokayâ then told another member of the party âyouâre gonna have to pay for the mimosasâ which she planned on doing. But for that to be said without offering a solution, an apology, or any sort of accountability was actually shocking. Needless to say, we will likely never return, certainly not for brunch.

Don't go to Rye for brunch unless you are married.
I had no problem waiting half an hour for a refill of what would be âvery bottomâ mimosas. I was genuinely happy after one hour when everyone else received their food. Then I was informed that they were out of pancakes. Not sure how that is possible, but I donât run a poorly run restaurant. After an additional half-hour wait, I received French toast with the added benefit of having no discount on the bill. I left appreciative of my wife offering half of her waffle while everyone else ate.

Very cool atmosphere and excellent service but the food was way too expensive for what it was. The quality of the meat in the burgers was very good and the buns were appropriate as well. But being upcharged for mediocre fries instead of the accompanying potato chips felt like getting nickeled-and-dimed. At a local diner where the sandwich is $8, sure. But not when the Reuben is $20 and no better than what youâd get at any halfway decent diner. When people go out for a semi-fancy meal on a Saturday night and they order a burger, they want it with fries. Who orders burgers and chips? đ¤ˇ
Although the lemon pasta was tasty enough, and the salmon was perfectly medium rare, the pasta was well past al denteâand $37 was over the top for what it was.
But the atmosphere was nice, with interesting music, and the servers were super efficient and friendly! đ

We usually love coming to Rye. The food is great, the drinks are some of the best around, and the ambiance is always spot on. The bartenders especially do an amazing job and make it a place we look forward to visiting.
Unfortunately, this last visit was very disappointing. After enjoying some drinks at the bar (we spent about $65 on two rounds and didnât mind because the drinks are excellent), we asked for a table. The hostess seated us and gave us menus, but after that nothing. We waited more than 30 minutes without a single server coming by. No water, no order taken, no check in at all. Staff were walking around, but we were completely overlooked.
When we finally decided to leave, the hostess who had seated us just told us âHave a good nightâ without acknowledging the situation. It was frustrating and felt very dismissive, especially since we really do enjoy this place.
We hope this was just an off night because Rye is a spot we have loved, but service like that makes it hard to want to come back for dinner.

Our servers were missing. We had to ask for water refills, appetizer came out when we were done our mains, drink came out at the end. Had to go to another server 3 times. Food was mediocre. We asked for a manager and even they were missing lol.

just had an absolutely fantastic dinner at Rye in Elmira, and Iâm still blown away. From the first bite to the last, every detail was spot on â beautifully presented, expertly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Honestly, I felt like I was dining at a high-end restaurant in Manhattan, not upstate New York.
The atmosphere was warm and upscale without being pretentious, the service was thoughtful and polished, and the entire experience exceeded all expectations. Rye is elevating the food scene in Elmira in a big way â this place could go toe-to-toe with any top-tier NYC spot. Do yourself a favor and book a table. Itâs an experience you wonât forget.

My wife had chicken waffles. She couldn't eat it. My omelet was good, but I can't fathom how an omelet with salad greens can cost $20.00. Server was great!
