Good beer, big portions of food (wings are huge), and large hall to drink and party with your friends. Sports are playing on all screens, so when March Madness was on it was great to be able to keep up with the action.

My wife, son and I went to Captain Lawrence yesterday. We enjoyed fresh beer, sunny skies and an awesome band. It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. All of a sudden, chaos ensued. We were surrounded by a group of wild children. They threw handfuls of pebbles, hitting some of the patrons. They filled up cups of water from the clean drinking water and began dousing each other with the water, some of which landed on me.They destroyed the cutlery, Napkin and condiment table. But wait, there's more. They picked up large sticks and branches and began sword fighting and tag as they weaved through families trying to eat. Next, they climbed up on the barrels, knocking over drinks that people paid for. The excellent staff asked the kids numerous times to stop running and playing and to find their parents. The kids paid them no mind. In the 90 minutes we were there, not one parent came to stop their kid or stop the behavior. They were too busy drinking and vaping. I doubt they all took Ubers with car seats to get their families home safe. If the owners would check their cameras, they will see exactly what I just described. Years ago, Captain Lawrence allowed dogs and there were very few kids. It was peaceful and chill. Now dogs are banned and kids run wild. It's only a matter of time before some kid or a patron gets seriously hurt. It's only a matter of time before an employee carrying a tray trips over kids wrestling on the ground and gets seriously hurt. It was bad.

Captain Lawrence Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Pleasantville, New York in 2006. It was founded by head brewer Scott Vaccaro. In 1995, Vaccaro saw a high school classmate's father homebrewing and asked if he could help assist. Still just a teenager, Vaccaro was told that he would be allowed with parental permission. He later enrolled at Villanova University to study accounting, but transferred to UC Davis to study fermentation science when he realized that beer was his true passion. Vaccaro interned at Adnams Brewery in the UK and later worked at Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. He opened his first brewery on Castleton Street in Pleasantville. He named it "Captain Lawrence" in reference to the street that he grew up on: "Captain Lawrence Drive" (named for the 18th century militia captain Samuel Lawrence). In 2011, after outgrowing its 20-barrel system, the brewery relocated to a larger space in Elmsford that had a bottling line and a larger brew system. In May 2019, the Elmsford brewery expanded to 33,000-square-feet and added a full-service restaurant. In October 2020, the brewery opened a secondary Barrel House location in Mount Cisco which focuses on barrel-aging and blending both beer and spirits. My son and I recently visited Captain Lawrence Brewing for lunch. My wife and I visited the brewery a couple of times when we first started dating. The brewery had changed a lot since my last visit; I love the new restaurant space that they have now. One thing is for sure, the brewery is very family friendly. I couldn't help but notice that there were a lot of people who were like me: late 30s/early 40s, got into craft beer about 10 years ago, who now had young children, etc. Although the food menu features a variety of different dishes, my son and I were in the mood for wood-fired pizza. We decided to order the "Pepperoni Pie" (marinara, mozz, pecorino) and the "Honeybear Pie" (marinara, mozz, sausage, hot honey, whipped ricotta, oregano). The pizzas came out super fast and they were super delicious! To pair with the pizza, I ordered a beer flight which consisted of "Hop Commander" (IPA), "Jam Juice" (Hazy IPA), "Golden Delicious" (Belgian Tripel), and "Dark Chocolate Cherry" Imperial Stout). They were all pretty good, but the tripel was my favorite. Overall, we had an excellent experience at Captain Lawrence Brewing and I look forward to visiting their Barrel House in Mount Cisco in the future!

Nice brewery with large space to accompany bigger parties. The beers are all very good. They have a wide variety of food to choose from: pizza, pretzels, burgers, hummus, etc. In addition to beer they also serve wine. Ample parking in the back. Not sure why they cater to children -little kids running throughout the place.

I’ve been to Captain Lawrence a few times now and it’s consistently good. We first started coming here during the pandemic trying to help out small businesses and ordering from their takeout menu. Since then we’ve been back several times for warm sunny days outside, cold days inside, Oktoberfest in the back room, and more. Each time has been pretty good but always has something missing! A few times we’ve had issues with servers being unfriendly or unresponsive, a few times I haven’t loved my food but this time was probably the best! Our server was pretty friendly, it wasn’t too crowded (and wow does it get crowded!). We came at like 4 on a Friday (I wish they had some happy hour specials!) and they already had spaces reserved for 6 that we couldn’t sit at. I thought it was a bit early but by 5 the place was getting quite packed. We ordered the pizza and fries to eat. I got the pizza with no Moz as usual (can’t eat it) and asked for a little extra sauce on that side since it sometimes gets a little dry with no cheese. They didn’t do that for me which was unfortunate, but it still tasted fine. The fries were nice and crispy but they were wayyy too salty for me. I ordered the vodka pink lemonade (in a can) and it was delicious. My bf got 2 beers and said they were both good! Overall, this place is good and I’d come back!

Probably the best wings I've ever had, though there is some variance in the taste each visit. Their blue cheese sauce is really good. In terms of beer, we always get the seasonal flight and have discovered some really cool tastes - favorites are dark chocolate cherry and golden delicious. Service is fast for drinks but food takes substantially longer the bigger the crowd is. Ambiance is casual and good for meeting with friends. Live music is a welcome addition. Prices are great for what you get. This is my third time here and always looking forward to coming back.

Great food and beer!

Great beer, so for that you get five stars. However, I run hungry when I have a drink or two so it would be nice to have some grub when the hunger sets in. Finger foods French fries etc would be good. Highly recommend for refreshing beer. Get you the Model-o amber lager !!!!!!!

Dynamite spot for a two-year old's birthday party. As a taproom, it's crowded and the staff is indifferent.

Preface: I don't drink, but my loved ones do, and this place still has so much to offer. I will come back here time and time again for a chicken sandwich and pretzel. The space is huge and food/drinks come out quick. The buzzers confuse me a bit but that's no issue. Lovely staff. Only thing that can make it better is a very nice n/a beer :).

Had a great time with Stella Blues Band. Great beer and good sized crowd too. Recommend.

I quite enjoyed the food here. The Nashville chicken sandwich was delicious. One of those kinds of sandwiches that is so messy and big that it falls apart if you put it down in a good way!! The people I was with also enjoyed their food. They had a big beer selection. Additionally they had cider, canned mix drinks, and vodka and whiskey. The vibe was a brewery vibe. A few to many children on a Saturday for my liking but oddly enough all the children were so well behaved I didn't notice them to much. There is outside seating too for nice days.

Just turn it into a Chuck E Cheese and be done with it. Too many unattended kids. The din upon entry of children yelling is something to behold. Immediately left.
