“My wife and I arrived in Tarrytown for a family wedding too late for lunch and several hours early for an 8 pm welcome reception, so along with my sister and her husband, we decided to go out for some light eats to hold us over. The receptionist at our hotel recommended Pete's Saloon.

We loved it immediately.

The vibe was a step back into the past. In a good way. It's a welcoming place -- the kind of local bar and grill where regulars gather for good food, good friends, cold drinks and (from the looks of the drum kit set up in the back of the room) some great live music.

As for the food, it definitely hit the spot. My wife had a bowl of french onion soup and I had the fried chicken sliders with a tangy Korean BBQ sauce and tater tots. My sister had the baked potato soup while my brother-in-law had the fried chicken sliders with Buffalo sauce. The beer was cold, our server Kim was intentive and friendly and the experience was a great start for an enjoyable weekend with family and friends!”

“Nice place to stop for a beer or two and a little something to eat. We had a sausage pie and two orange blossom beers. Both were excellent and service was great in the beginning. Only when it was time to leave we had to wait long for a waitress. Still our favorite place to stop when up this way.”

“One of our church members had a wedding reception on Saturday and used Westchester picnic. What a great experience! They arrived on time and brought everything for the lunch. They even provide their own garbage bags and containers. In addition, they take away the garbage. But most of all, the food was delicious! The wedding service was a little late in getting started but they accommodated us by staying later. The servers and staff were amazing. Please don't hesitate to use their service. I highly recommend them.”

“What a great find on our ride home! We got to talk to Gordo and hear the fabulous story about how his family has preserved his Mama's recipes. The food was fresh, delicious and made to order, and met our craving for a great deli! They were able to accommodate my mom's dietary limitations. The sandwiches were huge in a good way! Try the Cubano or the Philly. YUM! We tried their mama's meatballs and had to take some home for dinner. Thanks Gordo!”

“Delicious sandwiches. This place recently opened (summer 2026) so the staff are still being trained. Please be patient with them during training and enjoy the delicious food, they will become Freaky Fast as is their trademark service. I had the Italian on sliced whole wheat and definitely recommend it!”

“I'm from the heights... when you know you know. Definitely authentic Dominican food. Very very clean. Very unassuming place but the food was excellent. I had a little sampling: white rice, red beans, maduros, pernil, ensalada de papa. You choose your food and it is weighed. It was delicious. Excellent!”
