Applebee's Grill + Bar

Every time I come to Long Island, Applebee’s is my go-to spot. The food is always delicious, and they keep adding even more tasty options to the menu that never disappoint. The staff is super friendly and always makes you feel welcome, which makes the whole experience even better. I love the atmosphere—it’s close to the airport so you can see planes flying by, and inside you’ve got big NFL games on the TV screens, which is perfect for game day. Plus, being able to order food and play games right from the mini tablet at the table makes it both fun and convenient. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat when I’m here!

I am writing to share an experience I had at your Farmingdale location on August 14, 2025, which I believe warrants your attention.

That afternoon, I placed an online curbside order for a $9.99 burger after a recommendation from a friend who is a Kitchen Manager at this location. Upon arrival, my food was brought out promptly. While there, I noticed the “Bucket To Go” promotion and spoke with Elliot, the Manager on duty, who was professional, kind, and courteous. He instructed me to go inside to inform the cashier that I wanted to purchase the drink to go and to mention that I had already purchased food.

I followed his instructions and waited at the bar for my drink. During this time, a bartender(Amanda) walked by several times without acknowledging me. I understood that the team was busy, so I went back to my car to retrieve my food and decided to eat at the bar while waiting.

When my drink was finally prepared, the bartender placed it on the bar with a straw and walked away without saying anything. I politely asked for a glass of water and napkins, but received no response. A few seconds later, I repeated my request, and she turned to say, “You have to wait.” I replied that I was fine with waiting, but it would have been courteous to say so when I first asked. She responded, “I said that the first time,” to which I explained I did not hear her and suggested she speak more clearly.

At that point, she told another employee to get a manager, stating that she was “not making him anything” and “not dealing with this.” I continued eating my burger until Elliot came over to check on me. I explained what happened and expressed that I found her response unnecessarily rude. I had no issue with the wait—I had already been waiting about 20 minutes for my drink—but I did expect respectful communication.

I want to acknowledge Elliot’s professionalism and courtesy throughout this experience. However, I feel the interaction with the bartender did not reflect the level of customer service I have come to expect from your brand. I am bringing this to your attention in hopes it can be addressed, so other customers do not encounter similar situations.

David is awesome! I've been coming here for years and I always request him as my waiter here. He's the best one at this location! He helped my friend when she found out she was pregnant!!! I'm so excited for the baby shower at Applebees for Hope's baby David, named after THE David!!! So excited to come back for the baby shower!!!

David saved my life. When I got to the restaurant I was unsure about anything in life. I found out I was pregnant in the bathroom and he talked some sense into me. He is the reason I did not freak out. I am due any day now. I will never forget his kind and encouraging words. I will be naming my child David. This was the best service I have ever had in my entire life.

I don’t usually write reviews, but our experience at Applebee’s tonight absolutely deserves recognition—thanks to our amazing waiter, Oscar!

From the moment we were seated, he was on point. Polite, upbeat, and attentive without ever being overbearing. What stood out the most was his incredible memory—not a single request had to be repeated. Extra napkins and sharing plates? Got them before we even asked. Extra sauces, and special requests? He nailed it all—with zero mistakes. It honestly felt like he had a mental checklist and we were the only table in the room.

Oscar was the best waiter I’ve ever had at an Applebees restaurant. Completely changed the way I view dining experiences. Was very nice and always asking if we needed anything. I feel like a better human being having met him. Would promote him to manager if I could!!
