Everything was great. The villager burger was cooked perfectly & tasted amazing. Sam was our server & took great care of us. We enjoyed that the restaurant wasn’t over-lit. The lights are dim which made the experience better. Would definitely return.

Gotta say, when it takes 1 hr just to get a drink, it’s a bad night. When my drink did come out, bartender’s hair was on top (yum!)
They remade my drink and then we waited 45 min for our appetizer and main course which came out at the same time??
Service was really bad. Wanted to relive where we had our first date but gotta say, will not be returning.

Go to Dark Horse or anywhere else on Main St instead.

I recently visited The Villager on a Saturday night to catch up with a friend. The restaurant was extremely busy, which speaks to its popularity. My friend had made a reservation in advance, so we were seated inside fairly quickly after arriving. We originally hoped to sit outside, but all outdoor tables were occupied, so we accepted a table indoors. I ordered the salmon with classic fries and a glass of Prosecco, while my friend ordered a salad and a beer. The food was very good and well worth the wait, although the service was slower than expected, likely because of how crowded the restaurant was.
The biggest challenge was the noise level inside. The crowd was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation and hear each other. Parking was also a challenge, as there were very few available spaces nearby, and I had to park farther away than expected.
Despite these issues, we had a great time catching up, and the food was enjoyable. Overall, I would rate my experience 4 out of 5 stars. I would definitely return and recommend The Villager to others, especially for the quality of the food and the lively atmosphere.

First of all, this is the best spot in Farmingdale village! The bar is pioneered by Connor, who is elite in his position. The chef’s in the kitchen dish out love, soul and deliciousness…(best pub chow in LI). The atmosphere is a total vibe! It’s been a great experience living in New York during the NBA finals, and game 1 at the villager was epic!!! I’ll be returning to this establishment to enjoy the remainder of the finals, and I’ll be bringing some people with me to experience this awesome place with a great crowd and great owner. Diverse patrons showing one love. It was a pleasure!
Let’s go knicks!

The food was tasty, decent portions. The honey flavored sweet potato tater tots were memorable. The service was quick, cheery and not pushy. I went to hear a friend's terrific band in the back. Just the right volume and plenty of seating in back.

They don't have a back door like the other restaurant when the weather is bad. Limited seating. It was pouring rain 🌧 i had walk around to the front of the restaurant to get in. Not handicap accessible

2nd time was not the charm. I would encourage ownership to have all their employees and themselves to read “Unreasonable Hospitality” by the master Will Guidara. Because every bit of my only 2 experiences here lacked it. The first time my partner, and I tried to go a couple of Tuesdays ago specifically based off of what we saw on the menu online for both craft cocktails, and food, we were told we should’ve had a reservation. It’s bingo night and one of the servers is leaving so everyone is sad. OK I get that, but the approach of the. “Hostess” was downright rude. “You can sit outside there’s heaters”. in an exasperated tome. I said “no thank you, it still won’t be warm enough in 20° weather.” “Well that’s all I got”. Okay. No problem. We went across the street to 317 and frankly had one of the best meals ever.

But again, because of the interesting menu, we decided to try again last night. We made reservations inside to be safe. Arrived on time there was no one in the restaurant at 6 PM and were told to sit anywhere. I was so excited to finally get the Harry Potter drink. It’s on the website online and was on the menu handed to me. And she told me I’m sorry we don’t have it. Nor the sweater drink. Seasonal beverages but since we’re still in the season of winter doesn’t make sense. But what gets me is what the service tells me… She tells me that they no longer have the soda and they’re not gonna bother getting it back in because they’re going to change the drinks ‘soon’. First of all that’s ridiculous. Change your special menu offerings then so that it’s not false advertising. But when I look at the menu, the soda is cream soda. You mean to tell me you can’t stock a few cans of cream soda in case people order a popular drink? So I ordered the black velvet in my partner orders the King Kong. The black velvet says it has chocolate foam on top. I’m expecting a nice fluffy cold foam on the top of this espresso martini. Instead, I get wilted chocolate whipped cream. My partners drink, though it tasted great was barely half full. Even for an old-fashioned, that’s absurd. For the 1.5 hrs we were there, the server was inattentive, and we had to flag her down to get a second drink. And then the food, which looked really good on paper, tasted awful. I got the drunken chicken and the “crispy fried chicken” was either burnt or made in old oil, the prosciutto tasted old and his buffalo chicken egg rolls were gross. Low-and-behold I’m home sick today with bad stomach cramps and he’s been in the bathroom all day.

So in summary expect employees that don’t want to make the moment right and only do the bare minimum, and possible food poisoning after not enjoying lackluster dishes. A shame because like I said, on paper it all looks good. But the audio don’t match the visual as they say.

Excellent and friendly service at the bar and table. Had a quick beer at the bar before heading over to the table. We all enjoyed delicious burgers. We will be back. Nice spot. Can't wait to try the other food options
