Avicolli's Coal Fire

Avicolli’s, a well pointed true Italian restaurant. We frequent what seems like everyday because the staff and bartenders, such as Crystal, Amber, Michael, Tucker, are so a tentative and ensure each visit is perfect. The dinner specials are always a treat and delicious, something new every time, had the rack of lamb, what a treat, tender and prepared to perfection. Chef Jared and his team prepares each meal one by one, just like mamma would.

The pizzas are made fresh each time, Bobby is the “Pizza King” and takes personal care for each pizza, let’s not forget the wings. With the “coal ovens” are so much better than wood, much hotter, making a crust that is perfect each time. I love the coal oven as it adds a crust that cannot be made in wood or gas fired ovens, hench Avicolli’s Coal Fire.

The overall portion sizes are above what one would normally expect, the apps are perfect and again great sizes. The burrata affogato, when comes out of the coal ovens sizzles and with a healthy portion of tossed bread, what more could you ask for.

Follow-up with dessert and you will walk away fully satisfied from a great lunch or dinner in a friendly atmosphere!

This is an enjoyable place for both pasta dishes and stone fired pizza. Definitely recommend reservations but seating at the bar is great, too. Highly recommend trying the pizzas but the best thing on the menu is the Italian pot roast. It's delicious and you feel like you're eating a real, home cooked meal.

Avicolli’s Coal Fire is truly the best Italian restaurant and pizzeria in CNY. My husband and I have been regulars for years, visiting a couple times a week and trying nearly everything on the menu—each dish has been consistently excellent with generous portions. Bobby’s pizza stands out as the best we’ve ever had, and it’s the only place we go for pizza now. Chef Jared keeps things exciting with creative specials and outstanding homemade sauces, especially the vodka sauce, which is a must-try.
Beyond the food, the staff makes every visit memorable. Amber, Tucker, Crystal, and Mike, just to name a few, are always friendly and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated. Managers Nick and Joanne go out of their way to ensure every dining experience is perfect, showing real care for their customers.
If you’re looking for delicious Italian cuisine, inventive specials, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Avicolli’s Coal Fire is the place to go. Highly recommended to anyone in CNY and beyond!

I’ve generally had good experiences with both the food and service. They usually will accommodate most modifications to dishes, which is very much appreciated. The only recurring issue I’ve noticed is the presence of fruit flies or other flies during each visit, across different times of year. It’s noticeable and doesn’t seem to be just a coincidence.

Had a great lunch at the Bar. Busy but great service and the food came out quickly. The coal fired pizza is excellent. Got the calamari app, Diavolo Dulce pizza and the Avicolli burger. Quality ingredients. Big burger. Perfectly cooked.

Love the food, but just some advice; remove the first table and move the hostess stand there. Making it difficult for people to enter or exit your restaurant seems self defeating

We ordered catering for a Christmas gathering. It was a snap to order and at pick-up, the manger carried food to my vehicle. Now that is service. More over, great food and plenty of it. A shout out to the Utica Greens. BL, we will be back!

Start off, came here on a date, loved the quiet cozy spot hidden away they sat us at. Nice and private. The booth itself was a bit dirty; ie privacy glass. The affagato is depressing definitely not a true affagato meant to have ice cream mashed in the cup with a divet to pour. It ruined the experience of the dessert for me. Burrata Pomodoro was bleh. Lacked any flavor and the service was lack luster. Server must have been having a real bad day because she was quick at the tables not asking if we needed anything else or any of the basic server etiquette. Waters went empty. The girl while staring at the glass as she pours overfilled the water and hust left the water there without wiping it up. Her attitude changed when it came closer to closing time. Overall my date was fabulous, my experience of the resturant horrible, and not very likely to recommend..

The food was great. The sevice not so great. I was overcharged. Our waitress Brianna was not the friendliest. I felt she did not want to serve us. I would love to go back but I won't go where I don't feel welcomed.

Have diined at AvicolliS previously. Last visit was disappointed with sausage and Rabe calzone. Was burnt and flavorless. Eggplant sandwich also lacked flavor.

Very nice restaurant. Food is absolutely delicious. Went here for nanas 103rd birthday. We had a large party and it seemed difficult for them to accommodate us even with reservation. There was a separate 4 top table that a few family members had to sit at separate from the rest of us. Over all it’s a great experience with amazing food. Prices can be high. Parking can be an issue.
