I was immediately impressed upon entering Alley 41 and noticing that it has been recommended by the Michelin Guide every year from 2019 to 2024—an impressive and consistent achievement. I also saw that the restaurant had been featured in The New York Times, which added to my excitement.
From the beginning, the service stood out. My server, Leon, politely asked whether I preferred a hot or cold drink instead of assuming I wanted hot tea, as is often the default in Chinese restaurants. This small but thoughtful detail showed real attentiveness.
I ordered the stir-fried seasonal vegetable and the sautéed shredded potato with spicy. I also had many specific dietary requests: less oil, less salt, no MSG, and no soy sauce. To my delight, the kitchen honored all of them perfectly. I was genuinely impressed by the communication and teamwork between the server and the chef.
As a vegan diner, I found the experience not only satisfying but comforting in how my needs were respected. I highly recommend Alley 41 to anyone seeking delicious, authentic food with exceptional service—especially fellow vegans.

In my opinion, food was very mid. Hot pot dry intestine style was okay Cumin cripsy pork had no flavor Their dan dan noodle was prob the worst dan dam noodle ive ever tasted. Very salty because if the soy sauce they used. Overall 4/10 but good atmosphere but wouldnt come again tbh

What an amazing find! Had no idea that this restaurant would be on this quiet street that I was exploring. I saw the outside and recommended to my friend and son that we go there for dinner. It was an amazing experience from beginning to end. How could a cucumber salad be that delicious? How could such a staple as eggplant with garlic sauce? Be that good? It was one of the finest dinners I've had in all of Flushing! They were very accommodating as we ate no pork or beef and some of the dishes had to be altered in order for us to eat them. So the spicy green beans came without the pork bits and boy was it delicious! I wish I had taken pictures, not just of the food, but also of the interesting layout of the space. Space. I can understand why Michelin has included them. I just hope I can always get a seat whenever I come to Flushing for dinner.
