Having passed this little gem many times while on romantic journeys into Flushing , I finally checked it out last evening ( 8/8/25) after dropping my lady off at home ....... and was I ever in for a pleasant surprise ! ........ I was absolutely charmed by the three little ladies who served me in this most gentle , accommodating and genuinely " East Asian " venue of the innumerable choices one has on Northern Boulevard ; in my many restaurant reviews, this the first time I've led off with such a remark . Ordering Japchae ( sweet potato noodles with shredded beef and vegetables ) so as to have something authentically Korean, the size of the entree was really eye opening , with the large serving plate heaped with far too much for one sitting...... and was it ever delicious ! Requests for one item or another were courteously and immediately met : how nice it was to have Jasmine tea with a meal ! ...... Seating was very comfortable, tables were well spaced, lighting perfect for reading, the music soft, the lavatory immaculate . One must use street parking, but Japchae fronts on a clean , safe little Asian neighborhood, so this should not be a concern ........ Does this place have some rough edges ? Yes , several : faucets need fixing and some chairs could use reupholstering , but at least everything is clean ! ...... Service ( my first consideration) , food quality, comfort and value matching or exceeding some much fancier establishments, a 5 star rating is no exaggeration . Driving home, I thought that if Charles Dickens or Mark Twain were to create a homey little East Asian place out of time, it might well resemble the Joong Koog-Jip experienced last evening ...... Looking forward to my next visit !

Their food was all bland and tasteless. I couldn’t understand how they can get the basics wrong. How do you make jjajangmyun bland??

Tasty old Korean Chinese style! Don’t trust google rate 100%. Many times, rates don’t represent their whole qualities. Personally I care taste first for restaurants. Some folks just focus the rates only instead of tastes. Try this store if you care taste first

I've always been a fan of the Chinese restaurant in Bayside. Today I visited a Chinese restaurant in Flushing... The quality of the seafood was very poor and the contents were very poor. The sweet and sour pork sauce was just like dipping raw vegetables in a hot sauce. None of the vegetables were cooked and the fishy smell was so strong that I couldn't even eat the sauce. The seafood at the Bayside branch was so fresh and the quantity was so large that I couldn't even finish the noodles after scooping out the ingredients. I couldn't do it. It's a place I never want to go to again because I'm so disappointed.

The food was nasty, the fried sweet and sour pork was just mainly covered in flour and the sauce was so little and the main taste of it was pineapple, not to my liking. The beef fried rice.. the beef was FKING ATOMs?????. It was like shredded pieces.. not even many.. the black bean noodle was ok, the best out of everything I ordered.

The taste is good, but I wish the business hours were a little longer like before Corona.
It closes too early at 9:30.

Authentic Korean-style Chinese food. Good food, good prices.

Parking: 3 customer spots, mostly street parking.

It has good portions for a reasonable price. Good comfort dishes like jaja meng and seafood noodles. The fried pork is also great. It gets crowded fast.

Parking: There’s like two or three spaces in front of the restaurant to park so don’t expect to get those. Street parking is also hard but metered spots open up faster. If you don’t mind walking you may have to go further out to park.

Yesterday on a rainy and windy evening
I handed over the sheepskin and came home.
When I opened it, I wanted to throw it over.
The amount of food is too small and the food is too small.
I didn't go..I won't go again.
