My go-to hidden gem in the heartbeat of Flushing. Top notch quality sushi with many more exotic options on the menu. The service is excellent, and the ambiance is a step or two above the norm of your average sushi joint. Good place for a date or special occasion

I highly recommend this restaurant. If you live in Manhattan, you'll need to take a train or use Uber, but once you're there, you are not going to regret because the food is delicious, I suggest ordering the sashimi combo it's really good(small size $135 good for 2 people)They serve over 10 side dishes, and the price is reasonable compared to most omakase restaurants in the city. You can have a satisfying meal for around $130 for two people and they have a private room so call and make a reservation if you are a planning to visit over 3 people.

TLDR: Korean raw fish restaurant. If you're looking for hae/hwe, there's not too many options out there as it's kind of a niche concept but Dongwon is definitely good for groups. I'd stick with a set menu, although last time I had tuna - I think the mixed sashimi seems to be the way to go.Came with a group of four. This place is way bigger than it looks like on the outside. Overall the set menu was decent, sides were good enough but we got the bluefin tuna on our visit. My one issue is that most of the tuna is cold, borderline ice cold. This makes the fattier cuts of tuna, i.e. medium fatty, extra fatty, fatty collar basically tuna with solid blocks of fat. Personally between the temperature and the chewy fat chunks - I'd probably stick with a live fluke or flounder sashimi. Again, this may be a personal preference for me.The spicy soup was solid and I liked the hot rice with the roe. I'd try it again but would probably just get fluke. Very clean spot though and nice servers.

Clean & nice, a little bit pricier than normal Korean dinner dining but decent for the amount of food and banchan that comes with sets.
