While I was eating my lunch. I witnessed a worker drop a whole load of spoons on the floor in the corner below the hot tea dispenser. He picked them up and then put them in a pitcher. And then fill the pitcher with hot tea. I told the waitress and she told me he was going to wash the spoons again. She told him to go wash the spoons and he rinsed out the pitcher and refilled it with hot water. He just filled the pitcher with hot water! He didn't clean the spoons with soap or put them in an industrial dishwasher. I understand accidents happen and if he had taken them to the back and washed them properly it would be fine. This is not the first time I witnessed something unsanitary. One time, I found a piece of metal wire in my food and when I showed it to the waiter they just apologized. Eat at your own risk!
One of the worst customer services in years. Not the same Gahwa that I loved 10 years ago.

Food and service is ok but I’m very concerned about hygiene. During our meal we had so many fruit flies and flies circling over our food our arms got tired of constantly waving them away. We also had stomach pain later and the next day

This place used to be good. But everything changed. The size of the bowls are smaller, the prices are higher. The food even tastes different. The kimchi is definitely different. New owner, new cook most likely. Won't come back. Been coming here for the past 15 years. Im very sad.

i don’t know what these low ratings are about. My friend and i stumbled in when we realized the hot pot place next door that we had originally intended on going to was all you can eat and we were about to go on a 5 hour drive so we most CeRtainly could not eat all that we wanted. In distress and disarray we wandered down the street in search of a quick and delicious meal. And man, oh, man - Gahwa fulfilled our wants, needs, and fantasies. All of our desires served to us in the form of white oxtail broth soup, incredible kimchi, and sizzling bibimbap. Long story short - this place slaps.
