i came here 2 years ago once and i loved it. i haven’t been in to new york in a while so i go on a trip with my boyfriend excited to show him this place. and it absolutely sucked. i had no server. i had to call for people to come help because we had no specific server. and we asked this guy about the meat pack he seem mad that we asked him about it and when we didn’t understand he said just hold on. then we got this soup a worker recommended and it was so spicy when we tried it to the point where we couldn’t eat it. after it burned our mouth from taking 2 sips we could not eat because our tongue was burning and our taste buds were just bad. we talk to a worker to fix it they didn’t want to take it off the check and just kept trying to give us free stuff and the check. we did not touch the food. we couldn’t even eat anything after only drink water cause of how much our mouths were burning. and it’s ridiculous cause we had to still pay and we asked to talk to manager the manager never came out. and while we are trying to tell them we did not touch the food and the service was bad. they were giving us the check and telling us to pay. i never write a bad review this my first time ever. and it’s sad because i work in a restaurant industry too and for them to give us bad service and the food was inedible and we still had to pay is wrong. and for the manager to not come out and talk to us is also wrong. never in my life i had a problem with a restaurant. but for them to stand there and still make us pay after telling them the soup was inedible and that we didn’t enjoy it or barely touched it the girl still came up to us with the paying tablet so we can pay. this is very ridiculous.

This is definitely one of my favorite hotpot places I’ve been. There’s a couple vegan broth options, I think I got the tomato and it was pretty good. The standout for me was the dessert section, where you could build your own jellies with various toppings and they even have douhua!

Mengqi is an EXCELLENT server! From the very beginning, she had an extremely positive and great attitude. Before we even begin to eat, she noticed that I was wearing glasses and she handed me a lens wet wipe. I thought this was extremely sweet from her part! The way that she noticed this type of detail was just adorable.
My friend and I had questions about a couple of the menu items, and she was just so patient! There were two kinds of fish that my friend and I were deciding between to order, and Mengqi went to her phone to do a Google translation just so that we could get an accurate and descriptive description of what was the difference in taste between the two types of fish.
Throughout our dinner, she would come back to our table to see if we needed anything, to add more soup, and just to show that she was available for any requests that we might have.
There are not many servers who can continuously have a smile on their face while working - but Mengqi LITERALLY had a smile every time! And literally every time I asked for something to be brought to the table, she would immediately smile right after. But I must say, her smile was very genuine, and it did not look forced whatsoever. She is *so* sweet.
You can tell that she has a really great attitude and that just makes her customer service so memorable, to the point that I want to come back to this restaurant. Please, if the ownership of this restaurant sees this — give her a prize! Thank you, Mengqi !!!

First time going here with my friend and my expectations were blown out of the water. Excellent service, staff was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. Wanted to shout out our server Wang Mengqi, she made our experience amazing! It was my first time going to a hot pot restaurant and she explained how everything worked, how to cook, etc. I can’t wait to come back again and hope to see Mengqi again!!!

HDL always hit the spot for me in terms of hot pot. I love their tomato and tom yum soup bases. Everything was fresh. It can be a little on the pricey side but it’s worth it. Service is always great. Also!! Just wanted to give a shoutout to Haidilao for not only their amazing service but their honesty as well! I left my expensive scarf there and they kept it safe for me until I came back. It might seem small, but it really means a lot. Thank you so much! Catherine and Esse (I hope that’s how you spell her name) wonderful staff!!!

Took my sister here for her birthday and the food was spectacular. One of the best hot pot places I've been to in a while. I highly recommend getting the dancing noodles ! The entire restaurant was beautiful and they had a lot of different food and broth options! 10/10 would definitely go again.

Families, friends and dates go to this place for delicious fresh food and a gastronomic experience of one of China's most popular cuisines and restaurant franchise. Always busy even late past mid night on weekends.
