This restaurant is dearly missed... we have been patiently waiting for the doors to reopen but sadly nothing is changing so far. This place has by far the most delicious, hot, cozy korean cuisine we have ever tasted in my life and we really hope they open again. The donkatsu, seafood pancake, stew, and steamed chicken are our go tos as they never disappoint.

I miss you Hansol! When are you reopening? :(

My mother has mentioned Hansol a few times since last month, so I decided to buy 2 dishes for us to try for dinner Sunday night. I called in for take out to order Yang Yum Chicken and Haemul Pa Jeon (seafood pancake). When I ordered the seafood pancake the man told me to wait a moment so he could look in the kitchen to see if they even had supplies for the dish. He came back a few moments later and said there should be enough ingredients. When I walked into the restaurant to pick up my order, I honestly felt like the place was closing because there were boxes everywhere. However, I still had high hopes because the reviews on yelp were very good... I was extremely disappointed. Korean fried chicken is one of my favorite types of fried chicken, but I have never been so unsatisfied as I am with this Yang Yum Chicken. It was so salty, and the sauce had a weird sugary spicy flavor that just doesn't work. The seafood pancake had little to no seafood. If you didn't have enough ingredients, then you could have just told me on the phone so I could order something else. Instead, I was served basically a scallion pancake at seafood price. That is ridiculous. I really hope that their other dishes are better because I'm shocked that this is the quality of food they are serving when they have such good ratings. PS - My family was so hungry that we each took a portion, so I forgot to take full pictures of the dish. I apologize for the picture of leftovers.

They are to go only. At least when I ordered during lunch. There is a minimum order $15 to pay with credit card. There is a lunch menu with limited selection. I will try it so to see if its different from regular menu. The seafood pancake was not good. The side side is not bad. Spicy beef Cabbage soup was salty. I will try other in the future. I added egg and fish cake myself. The rice was cook well.

The portion sizes here are no joke at all! Got the Pork katsu and Jokbal Boochu Moochim. The katsu was pounded a bit too thin for my preference, but still tasty and well fried. I wasn't a huge fan of the side dishes that came with the take out, but I did appreciate that the to go orders came with banchan too. The jokbal was delicious!! I didn't realize it was a cold dish, but I still really liked it. The thinly sliced jokbal came with lots of chives and peanuts, all tossed in a savory and sweet dressing. My husband and I made almost 4 meals out of it.

This place gets a 10/10 for everything - delicious authentic Korean food with some of the kindest employees. I only wished they did dine-in so we could enjoy the delicious food there! Between the two of us, we got the donkatsu and galbi tang which was more than enough for us especially with all the sides. It might be a little pricier than your usual lunch spot but it so worth the quality and quantity of food you get. You will definitely have leftovers to bring home with the amount of food you get here. The donkatsu was HUGE and the sides you get were the perfect compliment. If you come with one or two other people, definitely recommend splitting the Katsu & getting a soup or stew. The galbi tang was probably the highlight for us - it was SO flavorful and probably my favorite Korean soup I've ever had. Having a soup alongside the katsu was the perfect balance because of the dry nature of katsu. We were most pleasantly surprised by the variety and amount of each banchan (sides) we got - definitely more than we've gotten anywhere else before. Even though we didn't get to dine in, we felt like we were feasting in a Korean restaurant with the generous banchan provided along with the meal!

Their donkatsu is very good. Huge portion, and their dipping sauce is delish. I always get the jokbal which is fresh and they give you lots of chives.

I'm so glad Hansol survived the pandemic. They truly NEVER disappoint. Delicious food, generous portions, reasonable prices, and the friendliest staff. They're takeout only for now, but mentioned they had plans to return to indoor dining once they complete renovations. Even with COVID, the prices and quality remained consistent. My favorite here is the spicy chicken stew, but I've also tried the giant tonkatsu, seafood pancake, fried chicken, Andong gimdak, budae jjigae, and jokbal. You really can't go wrong here. Banchan is also exciting and delicious!! They usually give ~7 different banchan.

Always reliable, delicious food with great portions. Ordered things I haven't tried there before yesterday for a big house warming party for twenty people, and EVERY SINGLE ORDER impressed my guests. We all know about their chicken soup, the Donkatsu and their Jokbal with chives but the surprise of the night was the Stir-fried Squid! So flavorful yet tender, with a heaping side of udon noods. The kitchen staff even comped me an extra order of the Top shells, thanking me for the big order. Thank You, Hansol, for staying open for business during these difficult times and maintaining the high quality of your food!!

My go to place for donkatsu in NY. It's an old Korean version of donkatsu, not Japanese. I've eaten here at least once a week and only had one instance where the donkatsu wasn't seasoned properly. Very cheap especially during lunch time. Sometimes the donkatsu gets sold out at night so try to order some time before closing. The portion size is big and can easily feed 2 people.

Got the Donkatsu for lunch after seeing many positive reviews and it did not disappoint. Unfortunately the place was only offering takeout due to COVID. When I went to pick up my order, I was surprised at how packed the bag was. I was just expecting a katsu and rice in a container but instead the fried pork cutlet was already cut up and filled the entire container! There were 3 containers of side dishes, 1 container of rice, 1 container of sauce and 1 container of soup. There was so much food, enough for two people. Definitely going to come back!

I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with a group of 4 people. Due to COVID-19, they only do takeout. We ordered the donkatsu ( fried pork loin cutlet). It comes with panchan (side dishes), soup, rice, and cabbage salad. There was a lot of panchan: kimchi, kimchi radish, daikon, beans, and macaroni salad. The fried pork cutlet was huge and could probably feed 2 people. You get a lot of food for $12.99 so it's a really good deal. FYI - you can only use credit card if you buy $15 or more of food. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.
