Hunan Cafe is truly a hidden gem on Northern Blvd in Flushing! The food is consistently delicious with generous portions, and the flavors are authentic and spot-on. The spicy dishes are especially great — the chili fish head, spicy pork, and dry pot dishes are all must-tries.
The service is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food comes out quickly. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality. Whether it’s a casual meal or a small gathering with friends, this place never disappoints. Highly recommended!

This was my first time visiting after their recent renovation. The dishes here are authentic Hunan cuisine, with a strong focus on spicy and bold flavors. Everything pairs incredibly well with rice, and my personal favorite goes to the crayfish and frog in chili sauce. The portion size was absolutely huge. Lastly, I just want to mention that the staffs working there were also very patient in introducing their specialty dishes to us. I highly recommend everyone to come here for some hot and spicy Hunan dishes!

Had a really bad experience there, maybe ten years ago. Decided to give it another try. It turned out to be much better. Every dish tastes just great. We went in early for lunch - the only ones at that time. Probably they just did cleaning, and there was weird smell, but not strong, so it was ok. But next time, I'd avoid that time period. Went on a Sunday for lunch. I really loved their stinky tofu. The grilled fish was well seasoned.
There was a time when many places served grilled fish, that's no longer the case. The last place in flushing that really about grilled fish, Hot Space, is really a shadow of its former self. This grilled fish was excellent, in presentation and flavor. however, the toppings were a la carte, would have been nice if they had a package of 4 or 5 toppings for 15 or something.
Food is delicious but service is non existent. Been here a few times lately but this time went home with a few diarrhea.

Basket Fish - Amazingly crispy. even after the graveyard, it maintained that crispy delicious taste!!
