Please learn how to properly speak to people on the phone. I called and instead of saying hello, hwa lung kitchen, delivery or pickup, he said yes. Please have manners on the phone!

Super clear restaurant with good food and drinks, expreso coffe, wifi, european and indian food, funny service, good prices.
Ordered the nonveg thali, extra garlic naan and cappuccinos. Cappuccinos tasted burnt and bitter, required lots of sugar to dampen the disappointment. The Thali curries all tasted similar and bland. The butter chicken was so mild in flavour as to be completely boring. The pieces of chicken (2 in total in the entire thali) were cooked well and tender. The papadum was stale, far from crisp. How any chef could be proud enough of this to serve I do not know. The staff were however pleasant and the pots of tea are cheap.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, Mona Lisa Cafe does it all brilliantly! Very good value for money. Omelette, pasanda and all the cakes are a must try! Toilet is run down but welcome to India!
Really tasty food. Huge portions. Big variety but still excellent quality (we ate breakfast lunch and dinner here and enjoyed every meal!). Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend.
Restaurantji Recommends
We ate in this restaurant for 3 days, during our stay in Varanasi. Everything was great! The stuff was nice, lots of turists so it is very safe to eat all the food. And food is really tasty and good, plus the prices are cheap. Would recommend for anyone staying in Varanasi, for sure!

A smile goes a long way! Having been here several times- the coffee and food is nice. On payment my money has been grabbed from me each time with a seeming contempt as if payment, and possibly being a oreigner is an inconvenience. If it is, make it clear on the door that non-indian travellers are not welcome!
Friendly little cafe with a very long menu down hippie lane. Aside from the bakery opposite which is also good this is probably the best choice on ‘hippie lane’. Very nice lemon rice. The aloo gobi was ok but a bit oily, huge portions.
Very nice people not too crowded food is good...
