1 star for the manager, 5 stars for the young servers who were friendly & 5stars for the food-esp flavor of the mackerel lunch box and just love the steam eggs that came w it.Unfortunately 2 things occurred that was not acceptable in my book-a ladybug in my salad and the manager that approached us to insulting say we weren’t allowed to pack the leftovers that were specially priced. What??! There were three of us for a speedy lunch on a friday work day that amounted to $150! We added 2 orders of the specials and the rest were regular priced items. They should have a sign informing diners of their no packing leftovers policy. Absolutely INSULTING AND OBNOXIOUSLY DONE! They should have comped the whole $150 meal for the bug in our salad!!

I went this past weekend to celebrate our friends birthday and every single one of us loved the restaurant. Our friend is a vegan and she had so many choices to chose from. We ordered so much food and drinks and the bill was so cheap compared to the number I had in my head lol we got red meat, seafood, chicken, veggies, soups, tofu all of it delicious. I loved the curry cutlet dish! Staff was very kind and always cleaning up the table, talking to us very present and kind. Very clean and great for photos. Will be going back for sure! Thank you for the great experience.Vegetarian options: If you like seafood you'll have a lot of choices

I did a TableForOne.I was immediately directed to a seat, got my menus. Ordered seared tuna sushi and some type of boar katsudon over rice. Overall experience was a 8/10. I went during the day when traffic was slow. Over price for my meal was 40-50. Would def go back. ONLY issue is that the restaurant is hard to find via GPS.Dietary restrictions: Obviously don't go if you're allergic to sea animals and/or if you don't like seeing said sea animals in tanks.Parking: It's Flushing. Parking is non-existent.Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible as you have to walk down steps in order to find restaurant

TWO THINGS:Don't ever come and tell someone how much to tip you when there's no mandatory tip, but only suggestions like every other bill in this country. Especially when services are mediocre at best.Secondly, don't ever add suggested tips on the total bill. It is always before taxes. This is the FIRST ever restaurant I've been to in my life that comes back and asks for more tip, and the first one I've noticed that add their suggested tip box on the total after tax. Life is hard as it is already, don't scam people.I was certainly surprised to say the least by that. Who on earth does that? WOW.

Cool space, nice menu. The portions in the pictures on the menu are shown somewhat larger than the portions that come out from the kitchen. Otherwise, flavors were generally nice, service was friendly, and the ambiance was nice.As a side note, the menu is unfortunately not vegan friendly, so avoid bringing vegan friends here.

Parking: There is a nearby parking lot for $3/hour (maximum of 3 hours). There is street/metered parking (difficult to find). We discovered this place after deciding not to wait on the waitlist for Szechuan Mountain House.Service: Service was good. We were greeted and seated immediately.Atmosphere: I really liked the decor/ambiance. Really clean/modern look.Food: The portion sizes were rather small and on the more expensive end. We ordered various dishes and the presentation of the food was great.Abalone - This was good. Had a citrus taste to it. The price of this was discounted when we went (not sure if this will remain at a discounted price for future visits)Dragon Maki - Tasted good but nothing above and beyond. Comparable to any other sushi restaurant.Agedashi Tofu - This was good. Again, nothing above and beyond. Can get this anywhere and will be comparable.Takoyaki - Underwhelming. The bottom of the ball appeared to be flat.Tori Karaage - Underwhelming. Can get fried chicken anywhere.Lava Stone A5 Wagyu - The meat was tender but was tasteless. Portion size was really small and definitely not worth the $36. Better off getting 2-3 more rolls instead of this.Oyako Don - Underwhelming. Nothing stood out and you wont be missing out if you go anywhere else that offers this.Seafood Yaki Udon - This was good. The sauce was good. It wasnt too oily. Definitely above average for udon.Ice Cream - Complementary at the end. This was also good. Only had the options of matcha or vanilla.Verdict: I would recommend coming here to try it out however this is definitely not the spot to go to if you are looking for dinner/something to fill you up. Place is more like a spot for lunch.

ordered good amount of food, one specific item we ordered was salmon clay rice pot with salmon roe. While ordering the waiter informed us that the dish was meant for four people so we adjusted what we ordered expecting the dish to be a lot. When the dish came out, the waiter brought out an big clay pot, mixed around the rice, and gave us two small rice bowls worth. Not sure if there was supposed to be more to the dish, but it was definitely not meant for four people, barely one, but was charged the full price of the dish. So either, the waiter didn't know what he was talking about or they just didn't give us all the food.

Decor is beautiful. The sushi here is fresh and presented beautifully. Staff were nice and explained questions we had on the menu. Went here for my dad's birthday and this is his favorite! Would 10/10 come again Wheelchair accessibility: first floor & plenty of spacious seating.

Found this Japanese restaurant on Yelp while looking for a place to celebrate my birthday with a friend. We went there for lunch during the week and the place was not crowded. Surprisingly it is pretty spacious inside and the interior is also nice, and since there are many fish tanks in the middle of the restaurant, it gives the feels of mid-fancy Chinese restaurant rather than Japanese restaurant lol. We ordered Seaweed salad, Live Scallop sushi, Fire King Salmon sushi and Uni Foie Gras Toasts as appetizers. Sushi set and Udon set as main meal. The food was better than expected. I love Uni Foie Gras Toasts the most. It is priced at $22 for 2 pieces (see photo), which is a bit pricey imo. As for the service, the manager and our waiter were not as friendly, the way they acted towards us came out a bit impolite and unfriendly. They could have smiled at least. The waitress serving us green tea was really nice though, she would check on our cups and always made sure they were full. I would go back again and try some other things on the menu. Note: I would have given 5 stars if the service was better.

Our goto Japanese restaurant in Flushing. Great food at reasonable prices. Ambiance comfortable. Friendly service.

It was relatively deserted around late afternoon. Abalone and sea cucumber were on sale; the former was slightly chewy while the latter was tender. The salmon and tuna, among the other selections in the sashimi combination, felt quite fresh. Grilled lobster was great with the garlic butter. The takoyaki had a smooth interior while the tofu was nicely fried and crisp.

For some reason, we were the only customers in the restaurant. While I found that odd, it worked in my favor as all of the hot dishes came out piping hot! I am NOT saying that they would come out cold if there was a full house, but only stating how the food came out in their ideal temperature. I recommend the lobster. While it may be pricey, the melted cheese and refreshing lobster taste is worth it. Not only that, but it is easy to remove the meat from the shell. The other seafoods were delicious as well. There were no fishy aftertaste or any sand in the oysters. The atmosphere was relax and calming, although that could also be due to the fact that no one else was there. The only downside is that the ice cream is only one small scoop. However, given how this was a free dessert, we cannot be picky about that. The service was impeccable and the waiters/waitress were all patient and helpful! I will definitely come back, although not too often as the price are a little on the higher end of the spectrum.
