I don’t leave reviews often but that place is deserved to be on this list. Amazing and simple food from El Salvador, very clean bathrooms and a nice decor, will be back!

ZHILING CHEN

TERRIBLE SERVICE — SCAM ALERT
I ordered juice and they charged me milkshake price (double), claiming juice isn’t on the menu anymore—without telling me first. That’s not a mistake, that’s dishonest. It felt like they targeted me since I don’t speak Spanish.
On top of that, no one ever refilled water, and I waited over 20 minutes just to get the bill. Confirm prices and record your order before eating here, or they’ll try the same scam on you.

Pupuseria Izalco crafts meals that satisfy both hunger and curiosity. The entire team works seamlessly together. Their design choices enhance the atmosphere. I need to come back regularly to work through their entire menu. The restaurant sits in a perfect area and the employees were attentive throughout.

A very Latin American place in the Latin American heart of NYC: Queens.
The food is tasty and very authentic, plus the staff is quite friendly and very attentive. This is a very nice spot to stop and have a cosy moment in the middle of the chaos of New York.

Food was amazing! Def recommend the cheese pupusas and cheese, beans and pork pupusa as well as the yuca fries! Waitresses were very kind and attentive. Love the atmosphere, not too packed but definitely popular and starts getting packed after a certain time. Will definitely come back. Found it by chance one day when I was omw to get Filipino food and saw the store and googled the name and wanted to try.

Absolutely disappointed and disgusted by their behavior. Their food is not as good as it used to and I am sure it is because they do not even care abour their customers. Selling is good but good customer service is a MUST!

Best place to have some authentic and delicious salvadoran food. Pupusas were great and there are a lot of different dishes to choose from as well as traditional drinks and desserts. Service was excellent, and the restaurant looks clean. Overall a great experience. Looking forward to come back soon.

We were on a pupusa specific search on our last day in the city. Izalco was the closest pupuseria en route from Manhattan to the airport.

They were great and I will return here every time I come to the city from now on.

If you’re using public transit to get from the airport to the city, this place is a short walk from the Q70 Roosevelt bus stop.
