Does anyone have information on why they’re closed??

I really miss these bagels
They were so fresh and delicious and a great size. The crumb structure was always airy and fluffy.
I hope the owners and workers are okay.

Fresh bagels everyday. Sadly they dont make sandwiches besides some basic ones like cream cheese and jelly.

I’ve always long for a good bagel shop in Flushing. I’ve heard about this place but never got a chance to try or the times we attempted it was already closed for the day. While it’s in Flushing, it’s still pretty far for me at least to get to. I had to take the bus. I could’ve walked, but it’s about 30 mins.
.
I wasn’t sure what bagels were available by looking at the shelves behind the counter. I didn’t plain (which is what I would’ve got), so I got a plain sesame bagel ($1.95) and an everything bagel with cream cheese ($3.50). There is a menu board but most of it is blocked out, I guess they use to offer more spreads based on some of the google pictures.
.
There wasn’t a lot of cream cheese spread on the bagel but enough to coat it. I wouldn’t preferred more. Would have loved to have some scallion too.
.
The texture of the bagel was crisp on the outside and very chewy on the inside. I really liked the chewiness. The dough is on the denser side but I don’t mind it.. I personally love to rip the bagel and dip it into a spread, like how PopUp bagels are.
.
However, I can’t say I liked the taste of the bagel. I’m not sure what kinda of flour is used but it doesn’t taste the same as the ones in the city, or even the ones in the markets. It’s not a bad tasting bagel but it’s not the taste I’m looking for in a bagel. If I lived close to this bagel, I would get it whenever I’m craving for a real bagel.

Same recipe since the day it began long before I was a thought in my mother's head. Been in the neighborhood all my life and this joints been here since the beginning. Even the same woman from 20 years ago running the show at the counter.

Some of the best bagels in NYC a true top 3 contender Utopia has nothing on it. You're a fool to think so.

Quick and to the point cash only old school New York bagels.

You can't get it toasted, you'll find out why.

The best bagels absolutely, without a doubt, and I say this as a lifelong New Yorker! Making bagels the old fashioned method gets the owner out of bed before any other establishment. Their bagels have the legendary crunch and chewiness, and the taste has never changed. Please do not inquire about toasting; these are delicious just the way they are and equally delicious when reheated from frozen.

The lady in front is very kind and thoughtful, yet she may come across as cold and unfriendly at first.

CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT, DO NOT MISS OUT.
