Went there for the first time with a friend of mine. Food was good, felt they could use some salt but the condiments covered that part. We asked to change our order a little bit and offered to pay for it but they refused. Other than that, it was okay. They have a decent seating area and a restroom for their customers. I may visit again & hopefully will get better service ??

I should have reviewed Jose's Fish Market a long time ago, having stumbled upon it long ago, but never recalling the name to give it a review. It sits on Roosevelt in the midst of the always bustling Jackson Heights scene. Currently its front awning has a rather generic name of Seafood written on it. It's easy to forget the name of the place when it's not abundantly clear from the street. What is clear is eating here has value written all over it.You walk inside and the name Jose is hidden from my recollected view, but look up at the menu and one quickly understands why this place can pack them in; individuals, friends, and families. A large piece of nicely fried trout with rice (and peas). Before you dive into that trout, it may strike you how perfectly well prepared it looks. You may opt for the tartar sauce, but I prefer my fish with hot sauce. Ask for the lemon wedges for added pop. The well prepared rice accompanies this generous ten dollar platter very well. In this age of inflated pricing, let that ten dollars sink in while you get your fill, crispy bite after crispy bite, with the hot sauce and lemon juice setting it all off.The simple pleasures don't end there. They have fried whiting or tilapia ( I cannot recall which) if even greater quantity is your thing. They have fried shrimp, which I've not tried, but it looks good and a lot of people seem to order the shrimp. I have had their fried chicken wings, I believe four or five whole wings for about twelve bucks. The wings are crispy on the outside and are just waiting for the hot sauce. Aside from rice, fries feature prominently as a side to accompany your wings. This place has no pretense. The interior is not fancy, but everything is kept clean. Service is appropriate; the menu is straightforward; and they don't try to do what's not in their wheelhouse. You'll appreciate what they do and you will appreciate the value of being able to eat well and simply in the food mecca of Jackson Heights for less than twenty dollars. You'll return to a place, even if you cannot recall the name of it, as I have done several times over the past five or six years. I imagine a lot of people who are regulars here don't know its actual name, but they return over and over because it always delivers great value and flavor. It's four stars and you can walk out, reserving a little space for any number of bubble tea places or bakeries nearby to top off your experience. Perhaps a nice juicy mango at any nearby grocer, fruit stand, or bodega...and you're still under a Jackson in Jackson Heights. You're welcome.

Number one fried fish spot in all of Jackson Heights. I couldn't help but eat my delicious number 9 combo which contains Fish, Shrimp, Scallops, Crab Stick and your choice of rice or French Fries. I have been coming since I was a little boy and the quality has not changed. Bless this amazing place. 5 stars. I will always come back for your combo meals and your delicious fish soup. Prices are very well as $10 for this I was able to share with a friend and still be full. Run don't walk to Jose's!

Delicious fried fish and rice. I tried both the flounder and the whiting fish.I also recommend to get the soup, which is a clear soup made with potatoes, carrots, celery and white fish.For the price, the amount and quality of food you get is unbeatable.

My go to place for a filling and delicious cheap eats. The breading on the fish is amazing and crunchy along with the amazing rice, sauces are available and the white sauce is S tier. The soup is by far the best and wish I could have a cup everyday. 5/5

Ate here today for lunch by myself on a hot Friday and first day of July. I had only ordered the fried fish, fried crab sticks, fried scallop and fried shrimps with french fries. It had tasted super good and really hot from the fryer! As an overall, I was extremely satisfied with my meal! The service was also really good, super quick, friendly and affordable as well! Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time for lunch/anything else! :)
