Is this what the so-called roast duck noodles look like?

I ordered pork BBQribs with shrimp fried rice my order came up to $30. I was okay with the price. I even tipped the delivery person $6. The food was subpar especially the BBQ ribs was like eating beef jerky. The shrimp fried rice was very tasty I must say but not alot of it. Don't oder the. bbq ribs get pork belly instead.

Solid neighborhood joint to get roast meats and various Cantonese dishes. Their stuff is generally good and service is quick. I often get the char siu and roast duck from here.

DO NOT ABSOLUTELY DO NOT EVER COME HERE. I ordered Roast pork and BBQ pork with rice, and there were MAGGOTS in the food. This place must be investigated and closed down with absurd hygiene practices.

Before covid (and even during), I would order from here pretty often because my friend's relative owns this place (notice I didn't give 5 stars despite this fact) plus it was more convenient than the other Canto bbq spots in the depths of crowded Main St Flushing. The I-495 is right there and there's almost always street parking available at MJ. I loved their soy sauce chicken and char siu but I'm not sure if it's like some other reviews have mentioned that maybe they hired a new chef or if it's my taste buds that have changed post-covid but some of my favorite go-to dishes are not quite the same. The taste is still there, just cooked in saltier marinades and less crispy textures. I decided to go for something different this time and ordered the Teochew duck (written on their menu as Soy Sauce Marinated Duck, I believe). I do applaud them for offering this duck because it's not easy to come by in Flushing. Personally, I'm not from Teochew (潮州) so I can't comment on the authenticity of MJ's duck as far as taste goes but I can tell you the LOOKS don't quite match up. This gives more rotisserie than "滷水" vibes. They served it with soy sauce and pickle brine (vinegar) on the side, which is correct. It was a little bit salty, like how their other best selling meats have been as of late but I fully submerged each piece of duck into the brine before taking a bite (like how one would dunk their nuggets in sauce) so in a way, that helped balance it out. My biggest issue with the duck is that it doesn't have the aromatics (which it's supposed to given a myriad of spices go into creating this dish) and hint of sweetness that I'm used to from Teochew duck because the soy sauce in this was too overpowering, but was still palatable and I didn't have to go all the way to Chinatown for it. I would probably get it again if I'm not craving anything else from here.

Best roast duck in East coast. Perfectly roasted skin & aroma. I have only tasted better in Los Angeles. This duck will make your taste buds dance. I usually order half for $20 and reheat it at 300 degrees for 5 minutes in oven. Get the duck wings to go with it for $3. Pairs well with a bottle of Hoegaarden ??

Place used to be better, must be new chef. I came for the BBQ meats. Still a good option when you're in the neighborhood. The lobster lo mein is also decent.

First and last time…bad parts of roasted pork, perhaps because I look young. It’s not worth it.

Food tastes okay.Questionable hygiene practices - while the restaurant has markings like wear masks, the chef sounds like he got COVID and without masks.Overcharge - if you order food close to $20 but not reaching $20 after tax, it seems like they'll change the amount on the item to make it reach $20 (they only accept credit card for over $20). They are also reluctant to provide me my receipt, so probably that's why.Food - fine, but as other people mentioned, they do put some unwanted parts in your food if you look young.I also can't quite comment on how exactly the food tastes, since I'm not local and hasn't been near Chinese food for a while.Customer service is weird - front reception stressed I'll need to tip if I want to sit down at a table to eat. I'm fine with it but I'll tip more willingly if they don't stress about it too much. They might sound rude and weird, not sure if it's because they speak Cantonese or because they are intentionally rude.Receipt, current menu & prices attached.
