This place is a lot of fun to go to. Nice lighting and music makes it a good date spot. Will go back again.

Simplistic, clean look inside. Dining tables are rather small, so bear that in mind if you're with a group and hoping to order several dishes. Chill music playing in the background + chill vibes. For an appetizer, we enjoyed the shrimp mayo taco. The hard shell is nice and crispy, but I thought the filling was on the bland side. Per our server, one of the most popular dishes is the kimchi udon. I see why it is popular. It's creamy and slightly spicy; its taste is a combination of Japanese and Korean cuisines that I've never had together before. I would probably get it again. We also had the udon soup with beef, which I think was ok but not savory - the soup was not as flavorful as I would have liked. But maybe that's on me - I probably should have picked a different broth or at least a spicy one. The cocktails on the menu looked really tasty (refer to photo), but I was not planning to drink at the time. Hmm, not sure what I am leaning toward trying first... But it looks like an interesting selection if you prefer sweet/fruity drinks like I do. I had slightly higher expectations, but I would give them another try.

I love Izakaya Mew, from its first location in Manhattan to its second location in Flushing! Everything I've had here is delicious and service is always really attentive. The drinks are also reasonably priced. My favorite dishes are: -Shrimp tacos and salmon tacos: both are super yummy, but the shrimp has the slight edge for me, even though I love avocado, which is slathered in the salmon tacos. These tacos are both filled to the brim! So worth it! And the taco shells are crispy and delicate. -Omu soba: egg wrapped around yaki soba, what's not to love? Umami flavor explosion! -Takowasa: raw octopus in wasabi; this is an acquired taste/preference, but I love the kick and the flavor of the octopus together -Kimchi cream udon: delicious and creamy... and healthy because kimchi is a vegetable, right? Other dishes I've had were: -Tartare, hotate (scallop) and salmon carpaccio: fresh, good, light, good starters -Takoyaki: standard, it's not my favorite takoyaki, but it does the trick -One of the hotpot/nabe pots: ok, I probably would stick to everything else on the menu -Matcha pudding: good matcha flavor, my favorite is still the matcha pudding at Ichiran

Very delicious foods and cocktails. The service was great. The servers are attentive and will greet you by saying "irasshaimase!". My friends and I tried the Mew Peach, Green Green, and the chocolate cocktail. My friends were all fans of the Green Green drink but I liked my Mew Peach more. I like my cocktails fruity, while Green Green was more earthy. The tonkotsu is very flavorful. I would say it's better than the one at Kyuramen and Nippon Cha (if you have been to those places before, you'll know). I have also tried the Mew Special Roll, Black Dragon Roll, and the Dynamite Roll. Every sushi roll is yummy but I am a big fan of the Dynamite Roll (and I always order it when I'm there). The kimchi cream udon is good but I would not get it again, only because it's overwhelmingly cheesy and they don't give a lot of shrimp (2-4 pieces). To end the night, I would highly recommend the basque cheesecake dessert! It's a very delicious quality of cheesecake, you won't be disappointed! (unless you're not a fan of it, then forget what I said ). They have a decent sized parking lot (can fit about 12 cars). They do get a lot of customers over the weekend, so parking can be tricky. Plus, the area isn't exactly known for having available parking spaces 24/7. Over the weekdays, there isn't so many people though and there's more of a possibility of finding a parking space in the lot . At least the Q13 and Q28 stops by there, if you're planning to take transit The interior is nice, dark, and versatile. It's a place where you can go with friends, family, or for a date night. The pricing is decent as well. For 2 people, the bill came back to around $60 (for 2 rolls, tonkotsu, kimchi udon, and cokes). Hope this was helpful :^)!!!

Izakaya Mew might be the best Japanese eatery in the Flushing area. The food is fresh, prices are reasonable, service excellent and they have a parking lot to boot. Hard to beat that combo. Located a bit off the beaten path on Northern Boulevard, its still worth the trek to get your itch scratched if you're looking for izakaya fare and not sushi. The family got the family meal that included a lot of small plates as well as their hot pot. All of our food was freshly made and tasted good. Standouts were their spicy tonsoku (pig knuckle) and the hot pot itself which had a rich broth and lots of fresh ingredients. Desserts were also really good. We enjoyed their basque cheesecake which was creamy and had a nice caramelized crust. Thumbs up.

If on a Spring's night a traveler didn't eat dinner, they would come for a bowl of hot udon. Its steam burnt the roof of your mouth, but you have no regret. It warms up your soul.

I tried to go to their location near Ktown but, it had a 1 hour wait for two people so, I left. I realized Saturday evening that they had a Flushing location and off I went. My partner and I decided to walk from the Main street (15 - 20 mins). Food: (4/5) I want to start by explaining that I am very selectively about eating fried food. It often doesn't leave me feeling great after so, it better be worth it. Sadly, the Geso and omu did not do it for me. I found the geso was quite over fried (thus super tough). The omu was really oily ( though one could argue that to be expected). Aside from the salmon sashimi taco, which was fresh and light, the rest was okay. Service: (5/5) I will admit that I was salty that they placed my partner and I in front the speaker system. However, they were very quick to take and give us our order. As a tea lover, I drink my tea quite fast and as hot as possible! They refilled my cup atleast 3 times, definitely better than most! All in all, I would go back to get the sushi or ramen. Their fried items didn't excited me enough to accept the backlash from my stomach.

Came on saturday night 7pmish and no wait!! From the moment we walked in, ambience was 10/10 chefs kiss for a wholesome night of conversation. The tapas style of dishes really makes the nature of the dinner conversation-centered idk how to explain it. One of their most popular dishes, kimchi cream udon, is so worth the hype imo. The bounciness of the noodle is perfect and the sauce isn't heavy like alfredo, not spicy either. Chicken Katsu Don was so flavorful and just a warm bowl of comfort that you can't go wrong with. The shogayaki (soy sauce marinated grilled pork) was also slammed with flavor but i feel like some rice with it would've been a perfect vessel to balance out the saltiness. The Mew Special Roll was delectable. The torched salmon on top paired with the fresh salmon in the center was like a hit of salmon in fire and water in one bite. I only had one so idk how well it carries a whole roll though. Sadly didn't try the ramen but snagged a pic.

Arrived late Sat afternoon (around 4pm) and didn't need to wait since there was plenty of table available. Come before 5pm as tables fill up quickly.Omu Soba - same as midtown/tasty and big portion to share 3-4 pplHamburger Steak - sauce is rich in flavor but the hamburger was on the dry side. overall its not bad but there's other choices that are betterMew Special Roll - same as midtown. a must tryKimchi Cream Udon (not pictured) - very creamy and tasty and just a hint of spicy. eat this quick since the sauce will thicken when coldKimchi Katsu Nabe (not pictured) - broth is savory and slightly sweet. chicken cutlets and seafood pockets is good. would recommendAlmost every table that evening ordered the hot pot which is probably one of their popular orders.

I love MEW for all their fresh takes on Asian (mainly Japanese fusion). I’ve been going to the one near KTown for years and I love the cocktails there and honestly the after work vibe from that location. However, the queens MEW has parking and there’s not usually a long wait. The menu is the same (might be a little different but over all similar). My favorites are the Salmon Taco, Kimchi Cream Udon, and Salmon Salad. On the day that I went the kimchi cream udon was a little off to be honest. Different from the one I normally have at the other location. I’m hoping it was just a fluke that day. Everything else was great. Staff was friendly. Will be back for sure!

We pass by this place all the time but never stopped in. Today we decided to try a few of the signature dishes. We had the udon special - creamy udon with Kim chi, shrimp, and veggies. This had a little kick but yummy. We also had the Mew special roll which was spiced salmon with avocado wrapped in a seared salmon with mayo. Boy was this filling! My gal pal and I loved it all! What are we going to have next time?!?!? The price was reasonable. Not over priced.

This was such a great authentic and fresh Japanese meal. It's a quaint open space in Flushing with great flow to it. The small plates are all affordable and delicious with a variety of flavors. I definitely recommend the takoyaki and kimchi cream udon!
