Very yummy! Got the beef Taiwan spicy hot pot malatang and it was very filling, lots of toppings
Deserves 5 stars - the popcorn chicken rice platter was absolutely delicious - rice was perfectly cooked and veggies/chicken perfectly flavored. Portion size was generous. Tasted very homey. 100% recommend

This place is all the way at the back. I've tried the pop corn chicken and the pork chop. Both were excellent.

Stinky tofu 9.99 - not so stinky for my hubby, good enough for me (still stunk) but it was flavorful, the sauce was spicy and good, the pickled cabbage was good

Cash / Zelle / Venmo only.
Had the seafood malatang for $12 — not bad for the cost. There were two shrimps, lots of fish balls, and a crab stick. I think they should increase the price and add more seafood elements like scallops and mussels.
Seating is self-service in the tiny, albeit clean, food court venue.

Total gem obscured as a hole in the wall. Pork Chop Railroad Rice Box is the best in the city, not too greasy and not overly fried with three small pieces packed in a separate container so as to let it breathe and not get soggy. Comes with two sides of veggies, two pieces of braised fried tofu and ground pork, and pickled vegetables the ways it's supposed to, on a bed of rice. Popcorn chicken also quite good. Can't wait to try the stinky tofu! Very reseasonably priceds... check out the menu.

Do not go to this place - we ordered the stinky tofu and they served it to us on a PLASTIC LID. We felt disrespected and insulted, there were no other customers and they couldn’t even serve the food on a regular plate/bowl. We had to wait ~15 minutes for our one order. The appetizer was $10 and only had 10 tiny pieces of stinky tofu. The tofu wasn’t fried or crispy at all. Will never come back to this restaurant again.

Honestly, didn't have much expectations but turned out to be awesome! I got both the Malatang and Malaxianguo here and both were tasty and portions were generous!
Malatang was different from the one I was used to at other Chinese places but it wasn't super salty while being extremely tasty! It was only like $12 plus tax
Malaxianguo on the other hand, was also pretty decent. It was also different compared to the Malaxianguo I've had at chinese places because it really didn't have that 'numbing' effect from the stir fried food items. Nonetheless, it was affordable and portions are super generous. You get two rice with an order of Malxianguo which is a plus since Manhattan charges an arm and leg for every little thing.

I always get the Taiwan Railway salt chicken bento box. It taste like being back in Taiwan again. It's nothing fancy but that's how it is in Taiwan, practical and tasty. A thin layer of rice covered with some cabbage, some pickled mustard greens, some stewed ground pork and eggs, slices of Taiwanese sausage, and a varying side (I don't remember what I had 3 months ago but I recently had mapo tofu and they were both delicious). Also, they give the crispy popcorn chicken in a separate to-go box which shows their care since I dislike soggy crispy chicken. I do like Legend Chicken a lot but the crispy chicken here is just as good and small enough portion to not overwhelm.
I wish they had something like this in Boston 🥲 (Tech Square would be nice).
