Spicy hyderabad masala dosa made my stomach upset 🫤
It was Amazing experience having breakfast at temple canteen hidden under the Vinayaka temple.
A small suggestion from our side - We ordered bisibelibath, uthappam and hyderabad masala dosa. Since we are from Hyderabad we thought to give a try on Hyderabad masala dosa expecting it to be great, although never heard that Hyderabad also had a version of dosa. But for our surprise we got a green chilli paste spread inside the dosa and aloo masala on side. Forget about Hyderabad masala dosa but we never seen a dosa like this. You should atleast have a red chilli paste instead of green chilli and aloo masala inside the dosa.
Or if you want to add a dosa from telugu states - you can always add kadapa kaaram dosa in your menu.
PS: Never try spicy hyderabad masala dosa here - There is no such dosa in hyderabad or anywhere else.
All the other foods were delicious not to mention , we visit the place often.

Now recognized as one of the top 100 restaurants in NYC by the nytimes.
Beautiful place to visit and have South Indian food.. Dosa vada idli and sweets
Been here a few times and try different items on the menu but I always get chole bature 😍
The Pondicherry masala dosa is a must try!
Everything on the menu is super affordable and taste way better than some of the high end restaurants.
Their service is super fast!
I'll add my five stars for this place as if my five stars would make any difference. The food is great and everybody knows it. I think the price is well below par for the quality but it's not cheap
Great food at unbelievable prices for NYC! I got a masala ghee roast and masala chai for a total of $11 !!! The last time I had this combination at another dosa joint I paid a over $20!! The canteen has a separate entrace so you absolutely need not and should not go through the temple.
I love this temple, canteen used to be good but now the food is ok. Not the same taste as it used to be
One of the best temple canteens out there. The temple is so peaceful and canteen has tasty food that’s bang for the buck. I love coming here. Reminds me of home.

I was there on a Sunday afternoon and it was surprisingly not very busy. The dining area is cafeteria style and there was plenty of seating available. I decided to go with the paneer butter Masala dosa since they only have it available on the weekends. I asked them to make it as mild as possible since South Indian food tends to be very spicy and I cannot handle the heat. The dosa was paper thin which is exactly what I wanted. The filling was delicious and I loved the coconut chutney sauce that came with it. I got the mango lassi drink and it was refreshing and delicious, just wish the drink portions were bigger. The food was very authentic South Indian and it tasted just like what I remember eating when I went to Kerala. This place is out of the way for me but I would definitely return if I'm in the area.
