Terrible.
Hi, response and further clarification on my initial review: Perhaps you are confusing me for another party, but my party of 6 and I never requested to sit in the party room. We were offered a table near the poles near the front door, and the high chairs I would have placed would physically not fit in that area. I kindly asked if we could sit at another other table as there was not a single customer dining upon our arrival. Mid sentence, the waiter walked off, and a hostess behind the counter very rudely stated, “well you were already shown where to sit”. I left with my party as I felt very unwelcome. I was a returning customer at Upper Crust, but unfortunately will not be returning due to the hostile service and lack of accountability from management. Take care!

I recently had catering done for my daughter’s first birthday by upper crust (not sure which location) - but it was a compete disaster and I’d like to warn anyone if they wish to deal with them in the future. I’m a return catering customer, they did my baby shower last year. Last time, JJ was the catering manager and he was very welcoming, very sweet to deal with - I had zero problems and everything was perfect. This time I dealt with Emma - the new catering manager. She was very hostile from the beginning, she didn’t have much customer service experience. They upped the prices but lowered the amount of stuff included - someone make that make sense? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I asked multiple times that everything will be checked and I will have enough of everything we need. I specifically requested that my catering order doesn’t arrive later than 12 because my party starts at 1. My catering order didn’t arrive till 1:15. My guests had arrived and were sitting with no food in the chafing dishes. Once we open everything, there’s no cups included. They cheaped out on plates, on forks, on knives, on spoons. I call in a panic because I have a million drinks and no cups - Emma says she checked the order, it has to be there. She doesn’t once apologize that the order was soooo late - she should have made sure it arrived on time, if not early. She tells me that everything should be enough and she will refund me for the missing cups - I never received nothing. No apology for the bad service, for the late delivery, nothing. And the icing on the cake is half of my guests got severe stomach aches - would not recommend and will never dine again. Upper crust - do better!

Had an amazing experience at upper crust! The food was delicious, but what really made it special was the staff. They were incredibly warm and welcoming really nice people. It’s the kind of place where you feel genuinely appreciated as a customer. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and great service.

Let’s run through the checklist, shall we?
Ignored for 20 minutes after getting menus.
Staff seemed irritated by our mere presence.
Asked for the check three times, got the wrong one, still got attitude when we asked for the right one.
Food? Offensively mid—and bonus, it gave me a stomach ache.
Oh, and an automatic 18% gratuity… for a party of three.
Maybe that explains it.
I get it—options around here are limited. But I’d take almost anywhere else over this.

I made a sheva brochos here and Chaim The manager was outstanding. I never had such good service and was never treated as well as Chaim treated us. Very professional. The food was excellent. The service was excellent and I highly recommend this place.

Love this place! The food is good and I really like that it’s kosher, they have a lot of options to choose from too. The service was great, super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back!

I had the pleasure of dining at “The Upper Crust” in Queens recently. While the food was delicious,
Dana - the manager was fantastic, professional, welcoming, and clearly a great leader. She made sure everything ran smoothly and that we felt truly taken care of. Their attention to detail and friendly attitude really elevated our experience. Highly impressed and recommend.

Last night, my family and I went out to celebrate my father’s birthday. There were 17 of us in total, so it was immediately evident that we were a large party—typically a good sign for both business and gratuity. We had a reservation for 7:45 PM. As we waited for the rest of the group to arrive, I ordered a few appetizers to start things off.

Around 8:15 PM, while some of us were still settling in and enjoying the appetizers, our server approached and asked for our entrée orders. I politely informed him that we’d need a few more minutes to enjoy the appetizers before placing our entrée orders. By 8:30 PM, we began ordering our main courses.

When the entrées were served, approximately around 8:45-8:50 PM, the waiter returned to ask if we were ready to order dessert. I responded that we had just received our meals and would prefer to enjoy them first. It was at that point that he informed me the kitchen would be closing at 9 PM and that if we wished to have dessert or hot drinks, we would need to place those orders immediately.

Feeling rushed, I agreed to choose from three dessert options that, according to him, did not require the kitchen. I also specifically requested that the desserts be held and the birthday cake with candles be brought out later so we could first enjoy our dinner. He agreed.

However, not five minutes later, the same waiter returned to inform us that the register needed to be closed and asked us to settle the bill. At this point, I was extremely frustrated. I’ve dined at this establishment several times before and have never been treated in such a rushed and dismissive manner.

I asked to speak with the manager, and the situation only worsened. A young woman, who identified herself as the manager, approached with a dismissive and combative attitude. I explained our concerns—primarily, why we were being rushed out when the restaurant’s posted closing time was 10 PM. Her response was that she had school and other obligations and could not stay late on our behalf.

Meanwhile, other tables around us were still dining peacefully. I reiterated that we had just received our food and were hoping to order dessert and hot drinks, as part of a special family celebration. Our bill was close to $1,000, and we expected to be treated with a reasonable level of hospitality.

Her behavior escalated further—she became increasingly loud and argumentative. My husband then stepped in, but she continued to raise her voice. Shockingly, when one of her busboys attempted to de-escalate the situation, she berated him publicly and even threatened to fire him in front of the entire restaurant.

After being closed for 10 days for Passover, one would expect the staff to welcome business and treat customers with respect. Unfortunately, the experience we had was deeply disappointing, and we will no longer be patronizing this restaurant—neither for large gatherings nor for smaller meals.
