A Century of Sweet Perfection!
I’ve been coming to this incredible homemade ice cream shop since I was five years old, and I can honestly say—no place compares. With over 100 years of history, they’ve perfected every scoop with love, tradition, and flavor that speaks for itself. Walking through the doors feels like stepping into a timeless treasure where generations have gathered for a taste of happiness.
The quality is unmatched—rich, creamy, and full of nostalgic flavor that instantly takes me back to childhood. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like home. It’s not just ice cream, it’s a legacy.
Thank you for keeping this delicious tradition alive. Here’s to many more years of sweet memories!
Awesome ice cream, service and perfect temp. Makes you burp.
Really good ice cream, except they close randomly with zero notice online. This is the third time I show up there and there is a sign on the door that they’re closed. Also the hand written signs all over the place are very sloppy, aggressive and unprofessional looking. If they would open when they’re supposed to maybe they could afford real professional signage.
We arrived, a group of 4, with two of us larger men. There was a table for 4 just in the middle of everything and a table for 8 out of the way. They sat us at the table in the way. We asked if we could move to the larger table and were told that was for larger parties and they could not use it on us.Okay, we understood. The next group behind us was a table a 2 which was seated at the larger table. (later, another group of 2 was say at the other end.) One of my party was bumped into no less than 4 times in this short period as we were literal in the path of every employee and patron. Right before the server came to take our order, we saw a larger booth open up. We asked our server if we could move to that booth as we were getting bumped into and were informed they only move parties in emergencies. (This later added entertainment as we tried to figure out what emergency would qualify for a table move...choking, allergic reaction, fire?) Anyway, the order was taken. The server was friendly and attentive. The ice cream was a bit pricey but good. I guess the ambience of it being the oldest ice cream parlor in NYC is the draw. I have now checked that box and will satisfy my sweet tooth at other, roomier and more accommodating locations.
Like so many Queens natives, I grew up going to Eddie’s. “If you’re good, we can go to Eddie’s after” was a staple of my childhood. I grew up and moved away, but anytime I’m back home I never miss a chance to go to Eddie’s. The ice cream is of a kind you’re not going to find many places. Delicious doesn’t cut it. My aunt used to make the best whipped cream in the world, Eddie’s homemade whipped cream is the only thing that comes even close. It’s that delicious. The hot fudge is just as good. I can go on and on. Seriously though, stop reading and go get some ice cream at Eddie’s Sweet Shop.
Really cute ice cream shop in the neighborhood. Old style but still serving people nowadays.
Portion is normal considering the price, ice cream was fairly good.
Milkshake was good, but didn’t like the way I was treated right here. Me and another group got skipped by an older family with some lame excuse. Then I ask to sit on the bar was told how many people are gonna sit it’s me and my girlfriend. Yet after I sit a family with two kids and a mother and father sits to my right and they didn’t ask them how many people are sitting. After I order, was told I have to pay right away? I guess cause I look Hispanic ? I remember before I use to be able to order without paying right away I guess times has changed here. Use to come here before every so often but it’s unfortunate i probably won’t come back.
Great ice cream! The coffee chip was so delicious and our server was very helpful in navigating their extensive menu.

I went to eddies for ice cream and as I was leaving the owner and her son/ staff started to insult a customer. It was very unprofessional to see a business owner belittle and yell at a customer.. there are ways to handle these situations like pulling the customer to the side.. worse part is there were many kids in the store at the time and the owners kept yelling at this lady.. very unprofessional and will not go back.. this is mot the first time I read and heard from others about similar situations when staff if mean to their customers.. do better!!!

Last summer, I treated my brother and sister-in-law to ice cream at Eddie's Sweet Shop near my apartment in Forest Hills. It was crowded when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon. An employee quickly cleaned a table for us. We enjoyed fresh, seasonal flavors like blueberry and peach!
