I been here a few times now but it has been a while. It’s also the first time I noticed they charge you a service fee on the bill. I came here on Friday night with my wife. It wasn’t too busy but stood there and waited for about 2 minutes before anyone came over to seat us. Food and drink was ok but not worth the small amount of service fee that they charge now.

How can an eating experience be rated as good when you need to speak loudly so your partner can hear you? This place reached a whopping 79.6 dB (the maximum is 42 dB)!
The food is good, but I struggled to hear my dinner date above the din. We asked for the music to be turned down even a notch, but were refused. As musicians ourselves, we don't want to become deaf! Would you want to have a deafening culinary experience?... think twice before going to this place, the ambience is a racket!!

Great place, food was good a bit pricy compared to the amount you get but well worth it it was very flavorful and so were the drinks definitely recommend their mojitos . The customer service was just good would definitely be coming back.
Came here yesterday for a quick bite & ended up regretting it. I got a waitress that couldnt understand a word I was saying when I asked a simple question. I had a frozen margarita and had to send it back because it was to sweet. Asked for a quesadilla & when I opened it there was no cheese in it and the guac that came with it didnt look fresh at all ( pictures attached ). Tried to get the manager/owner's attention but he was too busy eating and drinking at the bar. P.S. the owner eating at the bar was tacky if your on a break you should be eating in your staff lounge or somewhere in the back smh!

As a resident of Forest Hills Matíz had been on my radar for a while and I decided to give it a try along with my wife. Service and ambiance were ok. Albeit a bit distracted, but ok. We visited on a weekday at night after 7pm and it wasn’t too busy…but did notice the staff congregated in the bar area socializing. Don’t know if that’s the norm ??♂️. Our server did make an effort to make sure our glasses had water at all times. The food was also just ok. My wife ordered the mofongo and while the flavor was good, it was very dry. Didn’t taste cooked to order. I ordered a steak with mushrooms which was drowning in sauce. It didn’t taste bad but wasn’t worth noting. I’m giving it 3 stars because our drinks were very good. But the drinks alone aren’t worth another visit.

Ajiaco soup was too little,portion was the size of my cats bowl
my family and i came here after a pretty horrible day and they absolutely made it so much better. the food was so phenomenal not a single bad thing we had! we are authentic colombians that bandeja with great music made me feel like home. very amazing job!!
