Red Pipes is a great option for a relaxing, warm, and welcoming cup of tea, coffee, and a snack. I have never had a negative experience here. Lots of tea options - herbal and caffeinated - apple cider, lemonade, coffees, gluten free pastries (!!!), and light lunch options. The atmosphere is casual and conducive to sitting by yourself or meeting a friend. I've seen people of all ages, races, backgrounds here - students studying together, retired ladies having a group gathering, people working with their laptops..the whole range. Really appreciate the gluten free pastries which are nigh impossible to find in this neighborhood. High recommend - this area has lots of coffee places but this one has a very homey and relaxed energy about it.

cute and cozy atmosphere, but i would not come back for the coffee. coffee was not outrageously priced but i expected it to be a little better.

This is the only coffee shop that I've been to in the area that's worth going to. The woman behind the counter is super nice, and the space is well-cultivated. I can get an okay cappuccino here. I like it.

We ordered the avocado toast + water, and an egg & avocado on a croissant with a cappuccino which all came out to $46 with tip. On their walls they advertise their food and as a customer, this is what you believe you will receive. The picture of the avocado features fresh avocado properly seasoned, so when we ordered it, we thought this is what we would get. When we got our food the avocado was not fresh or smashed in-house, it was packaged and tasted bland. The avocado toast had OLIVES on it which is random and not what’s advertised or the way avocado toast is supposed to be prepared. My avocado croissant was overloaded with avocado paste and chunks of egg, there was so much avocado paste that the entire croissant was soggy and hard to even hold to eat. Both plates had soggy old salad.
I would recommend just coffee and to go. The other advertised food is not worth it and I’m annoyed I paid this amount for packaged avocado and soggy sloppy food.

Nothing was fresh I threw everything out after taking one bite. Avoid!
Great staff and even better coffees and teas!
The spot is not fully vegan, but you have no idea with the amount of pastries to choose from. There are so many cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and cakes. Not to mention three different types of vegan sandwiches, and the soup of the Day. That’s always vegan.
I recommend Red Pipes Cafe! I highly recommend Red Pipes Cafe, fresh and delicious food served daily at the counter! Friendly and helpful staff ready to help you. Definitely worth a visit! Recommend it ??

What an incredibly warm and welcoming environment! The owner assisted me and couldn't have been more lovely. The coffee is fantastic! I got an iced latte and it was delicious. I also buy Counter Culture there- my favorite coffee brand. They also host events and look forward to attending one soon.

This is the second time I've visited Red Pipes Cafe. There are a variety of breakfast/desert baked goods that look yummy. I personally like the teas on the menu.
My friend and I spent over 2 hrs there sitting and chatting and never felt rushed. No one came to ask if we were ready for the bill, etc.
The atmosphere is very peaceful. The staff is friendly, efficient and very accommodating. There's lots of interesting stuff on the walls, so be sure to give a second look.
It's a great location for remote work. There's music in the background, so those headphones that cancel background noise would be helpful for Zoom meetings and business calls.
There's a bathroom.
Parking isn't always easy, but I found a spot without difficulty both times. This last time I went around 10:30 a.m. on a weekday. Be sure to keep an eye on your meter though.
Check out the menu, and go for the ambiance. It's a great place for a date, or to catch up with an old friend.

Red Pipes Cafe in Forest Hills has one of the most cosmopolitan local NYC “West Village” cafe vibes here in Forest Hills! Red Pipes is such an important part of our community for where Queens residences gather for espresso, coffee, amazing home made soups, sandwiches, salads, avocado toast, vegan (and regular) pies, cakes and desserts.
Owner, Ofer creates such a welcoming,
inclusive warm vibes. I really appreciate the art work and decor. There’s actually an inspiring bulletin board with hand written positive jokes and word play (by Gary).
As a full-time professional touring musician I love that they have Thursday open mic and a yearly summer solstice outdoor concert!
My wife, Betina Hershey (runs Garden Players Musical Theater Program for kids) and we lead the band, The Scooches.
We often enjoy breakfast/ brunch and chatting with other folks from our community.
Many Thanks, Ofer and Red Pipes Cafe!
We love you!

I really like their avocado egg croissant sandwich for breakfast and their muffins are delicious. Good standard coffee as well. The music is always on point and the right level of relaxing, great ambience.

I asked for iced coffee with a bit of half and half. I got half and half with lots of ice and a little bit of coffee for $6. The barista was too busy on the phone.
