I have been to the Tap House a dozen times. I moved to Queens during the pandemic. This is my regular "watering hole." I don't go to bars to go to bars, ever. I stop in here en route, either coming back from Manhattan or headed there. It is convenient to the LIRR stop and only a couple of blocks from the 71st/Continental subway stop, and I often eat in the neighborhood. I have no complaints. They don't recognize me. That is fine. I'd rather be anonymous. Plus, a dozen visits in four years hardly qualifies me as a barfly like Norm Peterson and Cliff Clavin at Cheers, a reference that likely dates me, since the spinoff to that sitcom has been off the air for a couple decades. I have noticed that the venue is popular: on some visits, the place is packed, and you can hardly get in. Beyond the basics, I would say they have a great selection of beers. It is just outstanding for a neighborhood joint. If you are one of those connoisseurs who samples the beverage, keeping track (I know there are social media apps; I enjoy imbibing, but I do not need another app to play with), you would do well with a session here. I have eaten a few times. The food is what you would expect. That is a compliment, not a criticism. It is quite competent, and that is tempting. (I am at a point in life when I ought to avoid sliders, burgers, fried chicken, and onion rings, and delicacies such as poutine.)

The food isn’t what it used to be, the wings are smaller in size and doesn’t taste the same, ordered a few more apps and all of them were stale, tasted like it was 2 days oldBeen coming here for years, time to find another place

Just had a get together with some friends since 5 yrs old. So we celebrated at the Tap House and had the greatest experience. We were waited on by Jamie who was absolutely phenomenal taking great care of us. Also the woman server for dining tables was fantastic as well. Everybody's friendly there. I went with a screwdriver with pineapple juice and Their fish & chips. Absolutely phenomenal. The cod was cooked to perfection and had it with tater tots. We had a fantastic experience at The Tap House. Thank you for a wonderful time.
