Weird and wonderful bakery! Had a few breakfast items and they were delicious! Also snagged an apple fritter, and it was exactly what my sweet tooth wanted!

After a long night of car camping down by the river, I needed a little pick-me-up, so I decided hit this bakery and I'm glad that I did! I had the Bigfoot breakfast sand which was made to order and delicious. I also tried their apple fritter and coffee, both very good! Highly recommend if you're passing through this village.

My husband and I have been trying to bring my boys here for a couple weeks, but something always comes up or we drive out there not realizing they are closed. So yesterday morning I made sure we took the trip, and let me tell you!!! What a beautiful little shop with great service. Its small and quant but honestly who would expect anything else from a shop in Fort Plain. The college student behind the counter was super sweet and knew exactly how to answer all our questions about the food. The owner Steph (I do believe thats her name haha) came out when asked, and was gracious enough to let me take a clipping of her beautifully long hanging wandering jew plant before giving us our delicious food (which I will bring something back in return). I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on focaccia bread. It was honestly the most delicious breakfast sandwich I have ever had, and that says a lot because breakfast food has always been my favorite. I'm not sure if the bread was homemade, but if it is she needs to package it and sell it because it was savory and superb!! My husband's food was great also (He got the monster on focaccia bread). He did also get a donut which was big, fluffy and completely coated in cinnamon sugar which he loved!. So, if you are out that way, or just hungry this is seriously a must have and worth the drive!

The rosemary salt bagels are the best bagel I have ever eaten. The poptarts are always good. Prices aren't terrible. Definitely recommend going!

Been going in most Saturdays as of late. The milk bread rolls are to die for, the donuts are incredible and are actually yeast donuts which can be hard to find made fresh in my experience. All around 10/10

drove 2 hours round trip to finally check this place out and well worth the drive (already planning a return visit!). I initially set out to try their French crullers, which did not disappoint, but I wound up buying a loaf of sourdough and it has to be the best sourdough I’ve ever tried. Great taste and phenomenal texture
The best biscuit and sausage breakfast I ever had!

Sleepy Forest Bakeshop is a godsend, honestly. You'll benefit from being an early riser, you'll want to get there before they sell out of a lot of things on the weekends. It's is a bakery after all. They have great bagels and creatively flavored, totally scratch-made donuts. No mixes found here! You won't find a better breakfast sandwich in the area, either. Sleepy Forest uses local eggs and meat to adorn their home baked buns and bagels and it's really as good as it gets. Get the maple sausage whenever you can. I'd recommend something but honestly everything is made with equal measure of thought and care, so you can't go wrong with whatever jumps out at you.
This area isn't exactly known for its food, but now we have Sleepy Forest Bakeshop so it's looking up.
