This restaurant was near my home & didn’t know it for two years, the food was delicious, the place is nice & clean. The owner is very nice. I will definitely go back. I had a”boulette in sauce with cashews”, white rice & black beans sauce. The first time I heard of this dish.

Good food. Good Haitian food. I took a friend who I introduced to Haitian food a couple of weeks ago. He loved this place even more! The presentation was really nice. Really good food on these cool looking afro-caribbean looking plates. The red beans and rice were so good that you didn't need put sauce on the. The Gryot was so just right that I kept eating some of it even though I was full. My friend had the fried Chicken. None breaded. Tasty as heck. Some people like to put sauce on the chicken... But we both thought it didn't need it. I was really pleasantly surprised by the macaroni and cheese. Cheesy with a hint of some other flavors that complimented it well. I was only going to taste a bite but finish the whole thing. My friend is insisting that we go back again so they can try other dishes. The host/owner? Really took her time to walk my friend through the different types of Haitian foods and preparation...this was a patient and very warm touch... which made him feel very welcome. Oh, I forgot to mention that we shared some oxtail. I really liked the flavor. I am saving this location and going back again. With more friends and family. If you've never had Haitian food... This is a friendly and delicious place to start.

Bad experience! We took our American friend to this restaurant to try haitian food for the very first time and it was very disappointing. Only one person working in the kitchen and as a waitress? The wait was unnecessary sooo long . We asked fish in sauce ( steamed) she gave us fried fish ?! When we told her abt it she stated we can just put sauce on it. The black rice was horrible ( duri a red , no peas , no flavor) We really had a bad experience and I would not recommend. Our American froend was very disappointed and did not enjoy it. They need to improve on the customer service.

Tati Jos in Franklin Square, NY is a true gem! As a lover of Haitian cuisine, I was blown away by the authentic flavors and warm hospitality of this hidden treasure.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in Port-au-Prince. The aroma of rice and beans, fried plantains, and grilled meat filled the air, transporting me to the Caribbean.

But what truly made my experience special was the exceptional care taken by Tati, the owner. She treated me like family, ensuring that I had everything I needed and making recommendations to enhance my dining experience.

I ordered a variety of dishes, and each one was more delicious than the last. The Akra (fried malanga fritters) with fried plantains was crispy perfection. The Taso (fried meat patties) and Griot (braised beef) were tender and full of flavor. And the Haitian black rice with stew chicken was a masterclass in comfort food.

Tati's attention to detail and genuine warmth made all the difference. She checked in on me throughout my meal, ensuring that everything was to my liking. Her passion for Haitian cuisine and culture is evident in every aspect of the restaurant, from the decor to the music to the incredible food.

Tati Jos is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic Haitian cuisine in the Long Island area. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the food is simply delicious.

Don't miss out on this gem – go taste the flavors of Haiti at Tati Jos, and experience the warmth and hospitality of Tati herself!

I went there one day after work, I took myself on a date. I met the owner,, Tati Jo, she was hospitable, welcoming, and accommodating. Aside from that, the food was also amazing. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I love Haitian food and Tati Jo's exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be going back to try other things on her menu.
