Yesssss!!!!
Ribs were a heavenly experience! Brisket was moist and flavorful. Loved the catfish sliders. The wings were perfectly prepared. We will come here again, and again! Brandon and the entire staff were friendly and helpful.
Down home ambience. Kudos to the chef and proprieter. Moderate pricing. We highly recommend this restaurant!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **Absolutely Outstanding: Backyard BBQ Never Misses!**

Backyard BBQ continues to outdo itself every single time! I recently stopped in for brunch, and it was nothing short of amazing. Everything from the food to the friendly service made it an unforgettable experience.

What really blew me away was Chef Kenny’s incredible fried turkey and collard greens at the recent Veterans event. That dish *stole the show*! The turkey was perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, pure perfection. And those collard greens? Packed with flavor and cooked with love, true Southern comfort done right.

Chef Kenny’s passion for great food and community truly shines through in every bite. Backyard BBQ isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a place where people come together over fantastic food and genuine hospitality.

If you have not been yet, do yourself a favor and go. Whether it’s brunch, dinner, or a special event, Backyard BBQ delivers every single time.

Last minute decision to go on Sunday evening. Unexpectedly, a DJ was playing music (not my preference). Too loud to speak to the people at my table. Several menu items were unavailable. Thought it would be better experience.

Went there with a few fellas from the church and we was all impressed. Family vibes from the door. The honey lemon pepper wings is a must have. Main courses did not let us down. Definitely a go to spot for some great barbecue.

Inside Out Run Club

Inside Out Run Club hosted a birthday bRUNch on the Nautical Mile which started with a 5k run/walk and ended with brunch at the legendary Backyard BBQ. We had a blast!

The coordination leading up to the event was smooth with multiple check-ins/emails and clear communication. In our case, we collected funds from out guests ahead to keep things easy.

On event day, we enjoyed our run/walk on a beautiful Sunday and then about 20 of us hopped right into the restaurant. There were lovely custom menus which was a pleasant surprise but really showed the care taken for this event. We waited just a bit to provide our respective orders to our servers but then our beverages were served, and the fun ensued!

A DJ was there which was not expected but added a nice touch. She (yes SHE 😎) played all the hits which included multiple birthday shout outs. The restaurant event came out with sparklers and a custom Happy Birthday sign for our celebrant!

Food was greeeat (yum empanadas, fish and grits and that bread pudding was ON point!!!) and we were able to relax and enjoy our event without being rushed out.

Inside Out Run Club really appreciated hosting this special event at Backyard BBQ. Check us out on IG @InsideOutRunClub to join us at out next workout, community or social event! 🥳😎🔥

Wings were fried to perfection! I didn’t really taste the honey in the smoked wings. But the employees are very nice and friendly!

The food was good...first time there, I will give it another go.
Drinks were mediocre, and expensive.
For a barbecue spot, i expected the dining area to be more...bbq-ish 🤷🏿‍♂️.
Inside, is rather small & looked too generic,... as if it had been transformed from some other type of eating establishment, and i know for a fact #BackyardBBQ has been here for quite some time. They desperately need a makeover.
We opted for takeout after sipping on our overpriced drinks.
Again, I say, go there for the food.
Plus, it's #theMileatFreeport...
parking is at a premium.

Used to come to Backyard BBQ frequently years ago. Decided to try it again after moving back. I thought I celebrate Labor Day by having BBQ. When I get to the restaurant pretty much I was told that half of the menu was not available on top of that they are adding a 18% auto gratuity. I think its absolutely crazy work to be charging a auto gratuity when you don't even have half of your menu items. I read some of the 1 star reviews and I wanted to give it a shot. But seeing it for myself I ain't coming back. To the restaurant it is disgusting to institute a 18% auto gratuity but when you don't even have half of your items you will have people like me walk out. And then one of the servers said we have fish, I wanted bbq ribs and chicken. Extremely disappointed. Won't be back here.

I am extremely upset and disappointed with this restaurant’s lack of professionalism and consistency. On two different occasions, I traveled all the way from Brooklyn to Freeport, Long Island just to be turned away because the restaurant was closed well before their posted hours.

The first time, I arrived around 10 PM. The website clearly stated they close at 11 PM, yet the restaurant was already shut down. When I asked the owner, he casually explained they closed early because “business was slow.” That’s unacceptable—especially when customers are traveling long distances expecting reliable hours.

I decided to give them another chance a few weeks later. Before making the trip, I even called ahead to confirm their hours. I was told they now close at 10 PM (though the website still says 11 PM). Once again, I made the drive, only to find the restaurant closed again before their stated time.

At this point, I cannot even comment on whether the food is worth the drive, because I’ve never had the chance to try it. What I can say is that the lack of accurate information, professionalism, and respect for customers’ time and effort is extremely disappointing.

Until this restaurant corrects their hours online and honors them consistently, I cannot recommend making the trip.

The wings are delicious. I ordered the clams, they were good. I would have preferred fried over baked. The catfish sliders were delicious. Drink nice and strong. Great vibes on a Sunday afternoon they have a DJ. Overall I recommend. Their bbq is also amazing

relax and enjoy the art work on the walls, the vibes, the music…..by the way everyday is great at Backyard, but Sunday’s live DJ vibes, sing along, eat and sip does a body good!!

Food was good but took too long for the appetizers which came at the same time with the entrees. The potato salad was bland and the collard greens too salty. Not going back.
