“My wife and I treated one of her client's and spouse to a late double Birthday celebratory dinner. Here are my thoughts about the meal: Pros: >The waiter was extremely professional and friendly. > We had the prix fixe dinner. Appetizers, Entrees, and Desserts were all delicious. > We felt welcomed to enjoy our company and were not rushed. Con: > According to the menu, Each Entree was supposed to be accompanied by both a potato and a vegetable. This was not the case. The four of us shared a single plate of roasted red potatoes and 5 nickel size pieces of a carrot. The waiter said this is correct and asked if we wanted tp pay for an actual side of vegetable. I was a bit embarrassed and found this odd when the prix fixe was supposed to come with enough vegetable for 4 people. This is definitely not what I would expect from a restaurant of this level.”

“I had lunch here today and it was really good! I got the grilled chicken with yellow rice and sweet plantains and two chicken and cheese empanadas. The grilled chicken and rice were good. The sweet plaintains were’t really very sweet how I like them but they were pretty good. The chicken empanadas were good and cheesy but I wish they had beef and cheese instead.Overall this is a pretty good lunch spot, and considering the area not too unreasonably priced. I would definitely go back here again.Parking: There is no parking lot. You have to park in the street.Kid-friendliness: You could definitely bring kids and your family there with no issues.”

“Their corn / seafood chowder is my favorite soup ever !! They have won the Chowder Fest for the last few years. Their crab cakes, mussels , lobster rolls are always excellent. I have to watch what I eat as I am allergic to calamari and can't eat anything cooked with it , even in the same frying basket, and they always make sure I'm safe !! Everything is fresh and delicious and Heidi, the bartender is excellent ! All of the staff , when I am there has always been great and Hughie the owner , runs a great restaurant . Also in the summer when the outside Tiki Bar is open and there is live music, it's always wonderful .”

“Wow! What a fabulous place. So glad to have great BBQ right in Freeport. We had the half rack of ribs, brisket, fries, coleslaw collards, candied yams and corn bread All was just delicious. The people were super friendly. There was a birthday party going on so we bought the birthday girl a drink and she reciprocated by treating us to a shot. We'll be back. My only criticism is that the music was a little too loud, but that's because I'm old. ;)))”

“My friends and I were looking for a spot for lunch and came across this restaurant after roaming up and down the block. It stood out cause there was a huge space and there was indoor and outdoor dining. Plenty of tables but fairly empty on the Sunday afternoon that we came. Prices are reasonable considering there's lots of seafood options on the menu and portions are big. We ordered a few appetizers for the table: - Crispy calamari: wish the calamari was thicker. The ones here were the thinnest I've had and not my preferred texture since it was so thin but still fried well. - Crab cake: delicious, good chunks of crabmeat. - Coconut shrimp: 4 big pieces of fried shrimp per order with some kind of fried things in the middle. Good flavor! As for entrees, I got the crab bucatini. I was looking forward to bucatini pasta but unfortunately, they said that it would be served with linguine. The flavor was actually really good. Lovely tomato cream sauce with good amounts of crabmeat. I also got a side of seafood risotto which could be on entree on its own! It had smaller pieces of seafood but still very flavorful. I got to try my friend's seafood paella, which was so yummy. It was a huge portion, good to share for sure, and had lots of seafood and even chicken. The seafood on this was bigger pieces than the ones that came with the risotto. The tomato flavor in it also stood out and was really tasty. I also tried the sides of lobster mashed potatoes and parmesan truffle fries. The fries were just okay, not much truffle flavor and more like shoestring fries but not crispy enough in my opinion. The lobster mashed was delicious and had a good amount of lobster in it too! Overall, a great spot for lunch, dinner, casual meal with friends, or even a date. The menu has a decent variety of items but seemed to be more Italian and seafood focused. Definitely get their seafood items cause they don't skimp on the seafood and everything was cooked nicely! They also season their entrees really well, loved all the flavors.”

Bleu Island Bar & Exquisite Cuisine 103 Woodcleft Ave, Freeport Caribbean • $$

“First time experience at Blue Island. We were a group of 5 and we all had a fantastic time! We love Caribbean cuisine and it was a nice bonus that we could enjoy Caribbean food in an elevated atmosphere, meaning this is a waterfront location so there is seating overlooking the water and the area is very live! This makes the property very unique as there are not many Caribbean restaurants in the area with a full on sit down dining experience and none that I know of overlooking the water. There is also inside dining which is where we sat with our group because the place was already packed by early evening. We were hoping to get seating outside but overall, had a nice dinner inside where there was a pianist that night, (intimate lo key, relaxing setting inside, and full on PARTY atmosphere outside, with great music!!!) the blue rum punch is everything! Will definitely return and arrive earlier for seating outside. hope in the future as they grow, they will extend the menu.”
