“During COVID the Helm has really become my go to place for a quick meal with the family. The owner and staff are always wearing masks and the place is clean. We have never had a meal we didn't enjoy! The wings are great the only problem is their are too many sauces to choose from. My girlfriend and kids love the burgers but my absolute favorite is the Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla. I order it with an extra side of sauce. Best part is the portions are so large I get to eat half for lunch the next day!Support a local business with an amazing owner who gets to know their clients and even wrote me a personalized Thank You note for supporting them during the shutdown.“
“8/29/23 This bar is pretty divey but also cool. It gets pretty crowded sometimes and is definitely a tiny space. I usually come here on some Tuesday nights when my son is with his dad (I get most Tuesdays but there are exceptions sometimes) to come out to support my friend Dave G. who is currently running karaoke here. The staff is very nice, the bartender seems like an expert as far as serving up a busy bar crowd. They serve food but be aware if you order food you need to ask for it from the kitchen cook directly and you have to pay the kitchen cook instead of the bar for the food. Pop in on a Tuesday night for some Karaoke with Dave or just come by to visit!“

“First time experience at Blue Island. We were a group of 5 and we all had a fantastic time! We love Caribbean cuisine and it was a nice bonus that we could enjoy Caribbean food in an elevated atmosphere, meaning this is a waterfront location so there is seating overlooking the water and the area is very live! This makes the property very unique as there are not many Caribbean restaurants in the area with a full on sit down dining experience and none that I know of overlooking the water. There is also inside dining which is where we sat with our group because the place was already packed by early evening. We were hoping to get seating outside but overall, had a nice dinner inside where there was a pianist that night, (intimate lo key, relaxing setting inside, and full on PARTY atmosphere outside, with great music!!!) the blue rum punch is everything! Will definitely return and arrive earlier for seating outside. hope in the future as they grow, they will extend the menu.“
“ordered off uber eats, got the oxtail egg rolls and rice and peas. egg rolls were amazing, tender oxtail and lots of it. also came with maduros/sweet plantain which were delicious if you like them soft. rice and peas were very bland, they gave me a whole lot for $5 so i assume they wanted to get rid of it. the peas were undercooked/powdery and overall just needed some salt. amazing otherwise don’t let the fake negative reviews steer you away“
“Had a great time eating by the water watching the sunset. Boat riding by. A cold corona with a shot of tequila a lime and a lemon compliment my pineapple salmon. Pineapple is one of my favorite fruits & salmon is one of my favorite fish. The 2 together was amazing. My friend had a grilled shrimp salad that she loved. My other friend had shrimp with fries that she enjoyed very much along with my other friend. lol Who couldn't stop eating her fries. Lol. If you like spicy rum. The rump punch is delicious.. So if you have time drive your boat on up to the restaurant. Have a drink eat some great food and watch the sunset. If you're just walking around, let the music draw you in and have a seat. I'll waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. No matter how you get there boat, car or walk stop by Hurricane Harry's.“

“This place is going to be a favorite of mine in 2024. I recently celebrated my birthday at Harrison during brunch. The service was exceptionally attentive and personal. The food was fantastic with ample portions with left-overs tasing just as good as when dined. The music was classic rock with a lot of great classic americana portraits and photos of nostalgia. The staff was particularly attentive to our needs and we never had to wait. I can't reiterate how impressed I was with this restaurant. I must also add that the prices are very reasonable for what you get. The Harrison is five stars.“
“We were Visiting around the area, hadn't been in a while since we moved away. But it was my husband's 50th bday and were feeling nostalgic. We stopped in at Whiskeys because we could see it had a facelift. It's More than just a coat of paint. It used to be an unsavory dive bar. Now it's great! 3 taps , that includes Guinness. Nice liquors. CLEAN. Brand new bathrooms makeovers. With the art on the walls now it's got vibe. Shift change meant we got to hang with both Steve and Alex. Really nice to see the place looking so good and brought back to life. They had a DJ coming in for Sat night. If I still lived around there I would make it my local and enjoy darts and good tunes regularly.“
