“I've been to the Margarita's in East Meadow many times, this was my first time at the Merrick branch. The food is similar but the Merrick outpost is much smaller than E.M., with funky decor and (IMHO) better food. I didn't have a rez, got the only empty table as a walk-in. Service was friendly but slow as only one person was serving the whole place plus there was a glitch with our order, but the excellent food and drink quality made up for those issues. We were too early for the Tuesday $3.50 margarita happy hour (starts at 4:00), so shared a half pitcher of house margaritas instead - they were tasty and strong. (Please don't judge me for early alcohol intake, had a hellish morning so needed a nice numbing agent:) My Mole Poblano Enchiladas were fantastic, 3 of them loaded with chunks of chicken and covered with a sublime mole sauce. Partner's Burrito Mojado was made with skirt steak, he said it was delicious as well. The dishes came with yummy rice and beans, and each plate was embellished with a lovely purple orchid.“

We have been here several times for brunch and a couple of times for dinner. Delicious salad with greens, grape tomatoes and fresh red onions cut over a chicken milanese. Companions enjoyed their choices of crab cake benedict and a large cubano sandwich served with homemade shoestring fries. “We three ate here today. Tony, visiting from Ireland, and I each had the 1/2 rack of ribs which we both agreed was excellant, fall off the bone good. I had as my 2 sides collard greens and corn. Both sides were very good, seemed to have a slight pickled flavor and went down easily. She had the pulled pork sandwich, which she found excellent to include the thin bread, and she had to have the bread pudding for dessert, which was topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, so we had to help her finish it as it was too big for one person! Definitely the best rib place for both ribs and sides, we look forward to returning. The interior may seem a bit small but in the good sunny sumertime they have outdoor seating for well over a hundred diners. There's plenty of free parking, it's all located in the area behind Fairchild's Funeral parlor. The service is friendly and timely. “I apologize for not writing this review earlier, but I did have the complete honor and privilege to Dine here this past Sunday, March 3, 2024. From start to finish it was perfect. I am in the Restaurant business and have been for the past 35 years. To be quite honest it is really hard for any establishment to float my boat, especially in this day and age. As Server Jamal was phenomenal, very professional, and understanding. I arrived with a Guest a bit late for a Sunday evening and still was treated like royalty. The Chef even came out to adhere to some requests which I found simply unparalleled. From start to finish it was an epic journey of culinary perfection and straight-out perfect Hospitality. “I've been to two separate MFC restaurants in Queens and neither of them could compare to this place. The service was pretty fast and very good, with someone who I believe to be the manager/owner even coming around to ask us if we needed anything. In typical MFC fashion, the food was delicious. The soy garlic boneless tenders and spicy wings are out of this world, and the Parmesan truffle fries were good too. The prices for the food aren't even bad either, I can't think of a single thing wrong with this particular chain. The Plainview location is my new spot, and I'll gladly make the 25 mile trek from Queens to eat here rather than at Forest Hills.Sidenote: I believe they're having some sort of anniversary celebration on 3/1/24. It was a seamless and stress free planning process, which made planning a surprise party so much easier. “This bar was originally under a different name then it closed and recently reopened with a new name. Inside it looks like absolutely nothing was changed. Same large bar area filled with TVs showing sports, pool tables, and a few high tops scattered around. They had a decent crowd on a Saturday night and you could tell it was mostly regulars.The bartenders are super nice and always remember what you're drinking. This is not the place to go if you want fancy craft beer or the best cocktail of your life. It's very much a dive with a friendly group of people and more of a local watering hole. Not a bad spot to kick back, watch the game, and enjoy a cold one.“
“The new ownership is just what this Mineola institution needed to refresh its brand. The staff is friendly/laissez-faire in that typical "Long Island" way (if you live here, you get it). The bar side can be a bit cramped on busy nights but the restaurant side is very spacious. The copious number of TVs make it ideal for Sunday football and they do occasionally rent the space for private events. The menu has been updated and upgraded but still retains that bar food charm. The wings are of the well-done variety, if you like that and are plenty spicy (although, your taste may vary). I enjoyed the addition of hot pepper flakes on their hottest wings. The baked clams, giant pretzel and quesadillas are perfect apps while the full menu is surprisingly extensive with meatloaf, pot and Sheppard's pie, and a triple meat blend burger that knocks it out of the park. Prior to my last visit, it had been years since visiting Cornerstone and I'm glad I found my way back to this solid neighborhood pub.“

“Attended a large party at the Irish Poet for my establishment's annual holiday party. For apps, there were chafing dishes of chicken tenders, wings, and pigs in the blanket. I preferred the chicken tenders as the wings and pigs got a bit soggy. Then we were presented with mains: salad, penne a la vodka, chicken franchise, and sliced steak (almost like pot roast), along with roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables. The highlights were the steak, potatoes, and vegetables. Most dishes were lukewarm at best. I like my salad dressing on the side, and a thicker vodka sauce. The salad had so much dressing it wilted the lettuce. For dessert, Italian cookies were served but there were hardly enough to go around. I realize a lot of people skip dessert but it wasn't a good look to be short. Overall, I think a few adjustments to the food should be made in the future. That being said, Amy was a fantastic server. In fact, all of the staff/bartenders were attentive, taking orders, and cleaning up.“

The only thing i wish is that they would supply the utensils needed to crack open the crabs but if you have some industrial scissors and a good hammer and forks you can make it work. I would absolutely recommend this place even for ordering if you live near by it is worth it. next time i want a seafood boil i will go to this location in person to be able to experience the restaurant itself, the staff, and the service.“

I went for the 'Thomas Jefferson' burger (w/ fries) and it was very tasty. I did see someone else order a Bavarian pretzel, so next time I'm here I'm going to have to try that.
