“Amazing! First, there was free valet parking which is a necessity in this area. Second, we dined in a room that was quiet enough to carry on a conversation even though the room was crowded. No background music to add to noise was a plus. We have not been to a restaurant this quite in any of the cities we have travelled in YEARS!! The appetizers and dinners were wonderful and compared favorably to a well known restaurant in NYC that we had dined in the previous week. The wait staff was attentive although the kitchen was a little slow. The only minus was that I had arranged for a birthday surprise (not sure what that was but you could request it when you made reservations) and was even reminded by the owner and staff when we arrived that it would forthcoming. It never appeared.

Parking: Valet parking at night is in the LIRR parking lot across from the restaurant. The restaurant will valid your parking receipt.“

Between the two of us we order shrimp and grits, chicken wing(Parmesan and Buffalo), chicken and waffles, lobster Mac and cheese, and fried eggs. “My husband and I love DOX. Not only do we love the atmosphere, the view, the food, and drinks but what we love the most are the staff! I wish I knew everyone's name because I would give them all a shout out. Our server, whom we have followed wherever she goes (that is probably one of the main reasons we frequent DOX now that I am thinking about it), Dana, is super! She is attentive and genuinely cares about her customers. She remembers our names, what we like to drink, and what we usually order for food. “We were three people who split a selection of appetizers and sushi for lunch. Everything was delicious. The fish tacos were a real standout. Note that the front entrance to the restaurant is down a flight of stairs. There’s an accessible entrance in the rear.“

The largest party room I’ve ever seen. I asked the manager and he said you can project anything on the screen on the wall. I will book my next event here.“

“First time here and I can't wait to go back. We sat outdoors and admired the picturesque surroundings. It was pretty busy for lunchtime on a Thursday. My friend ordered the poke salad and I ordered the tuna tacos, which were very delicious and just the right amount. Service was quick and friendly. I was able to get a parking spot in the small lot and my friend parked in the small lot across the street -- someone sitting outside the lot tells you where to park. All in all, I am very impressed with this restaurant. The prices might be on the high side, but you can order the reasonably priced dishes like we did and be extremely satisfied.
