I am BEYOND disappointed. I never leave reviews to anything because I usually don’t care enough to do so. But today I took my Grandmother here for Mother’s Day. We were charged $26 PER PERSON for mediocre food. We were given the following options; fruit, soggy caesar salad, eggs, waffle, french toast, sausage/bacon, chicken tenders and mac and cheese. The price was not disclosed and for this little buffet (which wasn’t even self-serve) we paid over $80 for three people to eat, and we barely ate anything. The chicken was flavorless and dry. The “home fries” were a pile of mush. Not only that we still left a $20 tip on our $110 bill even though the server barely stopped by. My local buffet charges $15 (in ALBANY…) and has over 50 options and includes drink and dessert. $26 was a rip off! I cannot believe I spent over $100 on a mother’s day *buffet*. Not to mention a breakfast buffet? I would have rather had breakfast at a hotel and even that’s free.
So we went twice one more after the next a couple weeks ago. I’ve been meaning to get around to a review. We were originally heading to The Village Pizzeria down the road but it was closed. Our 1at night we got tatar kegs (very good, it’s what we went back the 2nd night for) and we both got the open faced roast beef. It was luke warm and fatty but tasty so we didn’t complain. Our waitress was great. Purple haired girl whose name I don’t remember.
Now to our second night. We came back because those tatar kegs were fantastic.
Our waitress was poor. When we got the tatar kegs we got the cheese in little plastic to go containers which my husband mentioned bc it was more than half less than what we’d gotten the night prior. It came in a bowl with enough for the kegs. She looked at him like he was stupid and walked off. We also ordered dessert. I had the tiramisu and he had a peanut butter pie. I had asked the waitress about how big the tiramisu was. She didn’t know but was willing to go look. That took about 10 minutes. She came back to tell us she couldn’t really describe it. I ordered it anyway. It came out and my mouth almost hit the floor. His is a frozen Marie calendar pie piece and I do mean frozen but decent size. Mine? Yea it’s a square 2inX2in and absolutely neither was fresh made. It’s something you’d buy in the freezer section at Walmart. Which wouldn’t be horrible if it was priced for that. $8 and $9 if I remember correctly. We waited for quite some time for our check and then again for them to run the card.
I’ve read the “owners” responses to the reviews and frankly that was gross. I will say she’s right, there are plenty of local businesses that care enough about the people who choose to spend their money there. That’s what we will choose to do and will recommend to our friends and family. Also, when you said your desserts are fresh and homemade by locals I laughed out loud at the audacity of that lie. I know for a fact the desserts we got are not. I get that your snarky attitude towards people who have given bad reviews of your restaurant have been tolerated to this point but keep in mind the internet is forever and social media has shut down better businesses than yours. Also, you said you would have liked these people to addressed the issues at the time if their service but by reading all your responses I can’t imagine you or your staff would have treated them any better in person. Have the day you deserve.

Prime rib dinner was a disaster. The meat wasn’t carmelized or seasoned, was dry, no jus and tasteless. $28. Rip off.

Not impressed. Ordered the petite sz prime rib dinner. It was tender almost tasteless, the mash potatoes were exactly that boiled than mashed w skins on I find that laziness of prep cook the gravy was greasy tasting which I couldn't understand why??
The Young waitress was clueless on menu items had to keep returning to enquire for knowledge to answer our questions. Waitress should know the restaurant menus an items offered like types of vegetables, an classes of wines served. The establishment was clean an eye appealing .

Great meals, a happy place! Everyone is very friendly. New owners have made it a pleasant experience to enjoy a very good meal in a friendly atmosphere.
New owners so I'm not sure about this place. There have been changes. Hopefully this place retains its service and atmosphere of the previous owner but from what I've seen I'm dubious.

The crispy chicken salad and buffalo chicken tenders! Always consistent and delicious. Also the bacon egg and cheese was amazing. The staff is great too! Highly recommend.
The best meal my husband and I had all month and we’ve been to a lot of restaurants with traveling in NC and Montreal Canada visiting our sons.

This is one of the best places to stop in and have a great meal. The staff are very kind and prompt to waiting in you. The prices are unbeatable and the amount of food that’s served in your meal is sometimes too much to finish there. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to stop and eat with delicious food and low prices to stop here.

Fantastic place.
Food is fabulous and so is the service. We live 45 minutes away and can't wait to go back again.
Back again. 10/23
I had the liver, onions and bacon again, it's the best around.
My wife had the hamburger, it must be at least a 1/3 pound.
Both meals were excellent.

Had an excellent dinner this evening at C & R. Started with a red wine sangria for me and a Heineken for my companion. We both ordered from the "specials" list.....broiled salmon for me, filet mignon for him. We both had salad with a tasty raspberry vinaigrette, companion also had a cup of Manhattan clam chowder. His steak was cooked perfectly to his specification (charred on the outside, medium on the inside.....not easy to do with a steak on the small side but the chef managed to pull it off). It was accompanied by french fries. I was presented with 2 beautiful pieces of salmon filet. There was no sauce or glaze on it but it didn't really need any. It was moist and delicious. And the vegetable medley served with it was also delicious. And it was all available at a very reasonable price.
