BK Sweeney's Uptown Grille

My recent experience was not great.
After patiently waiting an awfully long time for a seat, I was seated by the open door. Barbara came, greeted me nicely, brought water and took my order and that was the last time she came to me. By this time, the restaurant was not as crowded as earlier and she kept coming to all the tables near mine to attend to the customers, but never once came to mine. Each time, I was in her line of sight, just one table away from the last customers in a small dining area.

My meal came about 15 minutes later and still no Barbara. The small glass of water she had given me over 15 minutes earlier was now empty. I kept eating with nothing to drink. It was unbelievable. I saw her multiple times coming to the tables near mine but not mine. The restaurant seating area is pretty small, so there was no way she did not see me. I waited patiently for the moment of eye contact but it never occurred. I eventually got up to the ordering area looking for someone to get me water. This was when I became visible to Barbara. She apologized, got me water but by then I had lost my appetite. I asked to pack my meal. She apologized again and gave a discount as though money was my issue. I paid, TIPPED then left. I was furious by then. I did not feel welcome and being the only one in there that looked like me made me wonder if I missed the sign on the wall.

The chicken wings were ok the Nachos were terrible it tasted like a can of chilli poured over store bought chips. The calamari were not fresh and were rubbery. The crab cakes had no crab and were also terrible. In the past i have ordered dinner that was delicious but dont go for appitizers it was awful. Service was fine and atmosphere was great but im really there for the food.

Love this place and have gone here since I moved close to garden city 10 years ago. Great food, drinks, staff, ambiance. Steak is amazing and whomever I go with they love whatever they get every time. They usually have a little music going I think but it is good and it is quiet enough so you can hear everyone very well. I like there is a sense of people around yet it feels roomy intimate somehow at the same time. Great!

The food was very good and the price is adequate. It was busy and the waitress was very friendly but she never asked about our drinks. We all finished our first drink and were looking for a second drink but couldn’t get the waitress’s attention. We all ended up drinking the water and not having a second drink. Not the end of the world. I will definitely return.

We had a nice experience but it's not something we'd likely visit again. We had burgers that tasted much like something you'd get at a diner. It felt like a sports bar but since we went on a Sunday evening, there wasn't much activity. I recommend it for someone looking for a quiet spot to grab some decent food and a drink.

Food is ok. Not great, not bad. Potatoes that came with my burger were small. Price was too high. I don’t know if I will be back.

Way too loud in here. Over priced for nothing special and kudos to the waitress for the constant interruptions from other staff members moving chairs around and getting in her way far too often.
