This is my 3rd dinnjng experience and they don't miss on the cocktails . The best and worth ever $$ spent. My favorite appetizer is their Okra-fries: so delicious and right the right seasoning and crunch. I love the lamb shops and the lamb vindaloo

Surprisingly good Indian food for a huge space with multiple functions there that evening. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We visit Akbar several times a year for dinner, take outs and parties but this was by far, THE worst experience we have had and especially with friends from city who had high expectations from a “suburb” INDIAN restaurant!! We ordered 7 starters out of which 3 were bad, literally bad!! Gobi Manchurian and Mushrooms were not undercooked but barely cooked!! Paneer tikka was JUST eatable but Fish was fine. Chicken lollipop and Cheese Kulch(2) were the only good appetizers!! For our Main course, malai kofta DIDNOT arrive till we were ready to ask for the check!! Dal tadka was good and palak paneer was so-so. I agree it was Saturday night and restaurant was packed but that cannot be an excuse for substandard food or service!! So disappointed!!

Crowded for Diwali, but that's expected. Food is good, service is good, but the location is odd.

Our 2nd time to Akbar ... this time for our wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint.... Food and staff were amazing... and owner spoke with us and she was super nice ! One of the best upscale restaurants in Long Island ! We had an awesome time !

Food was of decent quality. Portions very small especially the appetizers. Waiter was borderline rude. He brought us ice-cream instead of the homemade Kulfi on the dessert menu and was aggressive when asked for the correct item. He did not change it. Would not return.

if you're looking for good quality Indian cuisine, this is the place. Staff is helpful and friendly. The owner comes around to each table. Local Indian population eats there - that's how you know its legit.

The people at the next table came in after us. Yet they got their food, ate, and had leftovers wrapped to go before our food ever arrived. Food tasted good but portions were somewhat skimpy for the price, especially the rice. The onion kulcha tasted more like plain Nan. We've had better elsewhere

My order was lentil soup and samosa. It was not hot but acceptable. My order for the main meal was biryani rice with lamb. The dish arrived as if it were plain rice, pre-prepared and mixed with some spices and not hot at all. Alive, not warm. I asked to change it, and the waiter agreed. In less than 5 minutes, the same dish came with yogurt sauce leftovers. Rice was added to it, and it did not even heated up, I ordered the cancellation of the dish and paid for the soup and samosa. I left the restaurant without any apology or trying to please the customer. I was feeling insulted. I asked for the number of the restaurant manager, and I talked to him. To be honest, he was nice and a good listener and promised to take what is necessary not to repeat what happened.

This place is offers great Indian cuisine. Great options for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free. I've come here for years and love the staff.

We had a great experience dining at Akbar. We came here on the Sunday for Mother's Day and were very excited to try their brunch menu. Unfortunately, when we got there we found out that it was a brunch buffet so we didn't get a chance to try the menu. It also was very busy so they had set up an overflow room that looked to be part of their banquet area. The set up was very similar to an event and didn't feel very much like a restaurant and was way too loud. Thankfully the staff were able to move us back into the restaurant area and we had a much better dining experience. Food: They had so many options on the brunch buffet, a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Some of my favorite item were the chaat station where you could make your own chaat mix.

The brunch was ok, food was NOT Akbar quality. No one came to ask what we wanted brunch or if we wanted to do a la carte after we were sitted. No one came to take drink orders. Finally after waiting we called a server to ask and took the buffet. Then we called in for our check saw 20% service charge for 2 people. I always go in for 20% tip, but I did not like the fact that it was already added to the check when the service was awful.

Akbar never ceases to deliver wonderful food. What really adds to the evening is the awesome attitude of the serving staff. I highly recommend Akbar if you are in the mood for a curry. You will not be disappointed!

Bobby excellent server, great recommendations. Rest of staff on point as well. Haven't been here in years, and I wonder why, I will be back soon. Food was awesome.

By far one of our favorite restaurants on Long Island. The new menu with everything clearly marked what is gluten free is a game changer and helps us feel safe to eat here. The staff and the atmosphere are amazing and the food is simply delicious.
