Excellent customer care and help with planning my event -

Restaurant lovely. Service slow. Was told they only had enough Johnny Walker Black for two of us on a Saturday night. Food mediocre. The honey ricotta pizzette was salty! The ceviche was inedible. It was drowned in green lime liquid. The lime was overpowering. The appetizers and drinks took a long time. Appetizer plates were not removed and servers could not drop off dinner plates. I asked for no cheese on the pasta. There was. The pasta dish came out twice with splatter on sides of the bowl. Not wiped down like a properly plated dish should. The olive oil cake was nice. The doughnuts were dry over cooked and we could not eat them. Terrible. It was a slow night and yet there was an overflowing garbage can in the female bathroom and toilet paper around the toilet in the stall. Will not be back. It was a birthday so we decided to try a new restaurant. Overpriced for quality of food and service.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a delightful establishment last Saturday, and I must highly recommend it. The culinary experience was exceptional, with a diverse and flavorful menu meticulously prepared by a talented chef. The cocktails were expertly crafted, complementing the meal perfectly. Moreover, the service was impeccable, thanks to the coordinated and attentive staff led by Manager Angel. Their professionalism and dedication truly enhanced the dining experience. I extend my sincerest congratulations to the entire team for their outstanding work. Without hesitation, I recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience."

Food was very salty, everything tasted stale, and very expensive. One positive - Drinks were good. I understand everything is pricey these days but if I'm going to pay I expect good tasty food. Not Impressed!

We visited Sparrow last Friday, not sure what to expect based on the mixed reviews. First of all, service was excellent. The servers worked as a team. The food: We had the popovers for an appetizer. Don't be alarmed by the size. They're tasty and fluffy. We tried the Margherita pizzette and it was also tasty. For the mains, my sons had the Gnocchi. Pillow like and delicious. My wife and I had the Linguini Nero, also delicious. No room for dessert. But try the drinks, different and interesting. We'll go back.

The ambiance is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. This restaurant is a great addition to the Garden City community. They have a great menu, but I especially love the veal meatballs, it's a must to try.

Deserving of 0/5 stars. A complete and utter disgrace to be charged for what they are serving. The food is evidently overpriced for the portion sizes, and quality. The fryer was "broken" on a Sunday (arguably one of the busier days of the week for dinner). Menu options were very limited. There were 3 options for sides. The servers did not look to accommodate their guests. The ambiance and setting is the hook and the food is the swindle. This place lost a total of 12 customers in 2 days with their quality (friends and family who tried the place) We paid for an appetizer that had burrata and dates - the entire plate was about $20 and came with no bread. Just a small portion of fruit and cheese. We paid an extra $12 for the popovers that was on the menu. Interestingly enough the best thing they served us was those popovers, but paid a whopping $6 for each piece of cheese bread. We originally wanted to order the market fish on the menu, and as you'd expect - they were not serving any fish except for their halibut. Me and my girlfriend got the gnocchi to share - and regretted it. Just about 7 pieces for the both of us. Left hungry and disappointed, the servers took an extra 20 minutes to ask us how everything was doing. And to top it off, one of our plates were chipped - noticeably. Not exaggerating when I say it could've cut someone. I wish I could say I am normally one of the people who leave crappy reviews, but I'm not. This place was just that disappointing which led me to express my opinion on their service and quality. I hope no one else experiences this sham of a restaurant. Yelp needs to add a 0 star feature asap.

Service was terrible. Food was just okay for the high prices. The atmosphere was nice but I won’t be going back.

This place is mediocre at best. I took my partner here for an early dinner on a Saturday at 5:30pm. The place is really cute design wise. Upon arrival, we were promptly sat for our reservation, which was great. Then the staff was confused on which of two wait staff members was assigned to our table. This would have been fine except for the first 10 mins or so they would both come over back to back, interrupting conversation, asking the same questions and giving us virtually no time to even look at the menu. At this point the place was not packed at all. They could use some tweaking in their process of assigning tables if it was so confusing for them. Eventually only one kept coming back. We both ordered the basil cucumber drink, which was delicious but mostly ice in the glass. For appetizer we ordered the spicy soppressata pizzette and the toro crudo (pics of both). Both were good but no great. For entree, I ordered the king crab carbonara and he ordered the sea bass. The king crab carbonara came lacking much crab at all and the sea bass was just bland. The potatoes that came with the sea bass were VERY good though. We were handed a dessert menu and realized this place does not offer regular coffee or espresso, the only option was dessert cocktails, so we passed on the dessert entirely. For the price tag that comes with dining here, it should be a lot better. We do not plan on returning.

Wonderful experience for our first time at Sparrow. Our server Luciano was attentive, and provided recommendations. We started with the burrata- it was a preparation we've never experienced before. We followed up with cacio e pepe, but the scene stealer was the NY strip with 1000 layer potatoes. One of the best prepared steaks I've had in a while. Served with a peppercorn sauce, but I don't think it needed it. Plate maybe could have used a little green - but not a deal breaker. Wrapped up the night with the recommended banana pudding. Although I didn't partake, my date was in heaven, seriously. He may have had a divine intervention. Luke, one of the co-owners, chatted with us for a while, and he was lovely and engaging, in the midst of a very busy dinner service. We shall be back, and you should make a reservation too!!

This is a very nice spot but the ambiance only goes so far. The service was very poor. We met our server 15 minutes after sitting down, 30 seconds after our water glasses were filled for the first time. She said we had to order drinks apps and main courses all at once. We did. She offered no information on the menu. The appetizers made it to the table before the drinks. From there the food was fine, the wine was good. The food runner brought our apps and food to the wrong table each time. When finished we sat waiting for our server again. Nothing about the evening stood out aside from the decor and music. At this price point, that is not enough.

Was disappointed by the service. I know it was Valentine's Day but we didn't get one thing we ordered and did not receive chocolate covered strawberries that were included in the meal (realized after the fact). It was disappointing overall. Food was good but nothing to write home about. :/ maybe our mistake was going out on Valentine's Day !
