Great food and service is Spectacular
We used to come here all of the time. It is now a Chipotle rip-off. I have been back twice since the change, the 2nd time just to make sure the 1st time was not a fluke. Poor decision on management to change. The place is empty now and both times I watched several groups walk in then walk out. Unfortunately it is only a matter of time before they go out of business. What a shame for such a great place.
Food was pretty good: the meal course (rice, bread, meat) was good, but falafel was very dry (baked instead of deep fried also).
Wild Fig recently converted from a traditional restaurant into a fast casual concept. As a fan of the previous incarnation, I was surprised to walk in and find such a significant change had taken place in a few months since my last visit. The menu is massively reduced, now offering a small selection of items with a choice of proteins, veggies, and sauces like what you may find at a Moe's or Chipotle. I opted for a Falafel Flatbread sandwich with spicy feta, always one of my favorite things to get at old Wild Fig. I found the food to still be really good quality overall, with a nice selection of toppings to choose from. Everything seemed very fresh and our service was very pleasant. While not inexpensive, the offerings did not seem outrageous for the kind of food you're getting. Overall, I enjoyed this new experience. I think there's a part of me that's going to miss the old, full service menu offerings, but if I'm being honest there's only a handful of items I would've gotten that were no longer available. No gyro is a bit of a surprise, but Wild Fig has always been Mediterranean, not just Greek. I'd recommend giving this an honest try, it's different, but far from the 1 star some of these other recent reviews are giving it.
Loved this restaurant but then they changed the concept and the menu from a traditional restaurant to one of these fast casual chipotle-esque restaurants. So disappointed. Can't even get a gyro anymore. Dear Wild Fig ownership, please incorporate your old menu with the new menu, or you will have alienated all of your loyal Garden City customers. Updated Review. Went there a couple more times for dinner because it was cheap and quick. But the last time i went I got extremely sick overnight. Never again.
Very disappointed in the new style of service in garden city. This use to be one of my favorite places to eat and now i can not enjoy half of the menu items i use to enjoy most of them are gone. Very sad to not be coming back here anymore for meals due to service and the food not being as fresh as it once was.
New format. Table service has been eliminated. Service is now "make your own salad/rice bowl and bring it to your table."
Delicious coffee and bread! :) lots of vegetarian options, try the olive and cheese flatbread yum!!
Any of the salads with a falafel topper, and of course the pide!
Falafel was very good, and the service was attentive

Their chicken kebabs are really good!
Try the signature gyro sandwich. Tzatziki sauce is delish. The hummus has a little too much tahini for my tastes.
Iskender kebob is the bomb along with the mousaka, shrimp kebab, chicken gyros. Make sure u substitute rice for bulgar pilaf
A reliable Mediterranean option in an area without very many. I still struggle with the idea of a Mediterranisn restaurant that doesn't serve tabbouli.
Get a pide. Spinach is my favorite. It's like a 'greek pizza'.
