It was okay; had my prom date there for a dinner and it wasn’t the best.... would go again just to see if it was okay.Might help if it was ever open for business.

A perfect little place to spend the night! My husband & I came too late for dinner, but the room was VERY comfortable, as was the huge tub! I definitely plan on making a return trip!

Shame on you Big Tree Inn. My daughter was planning a wedding for Sept 2022 and when things changed in May 2021 they wouldn't give this child back her $500 deposit! That's 17 MONTHS before her event. I have been involved in event contracts before and typically cancelation can be 6 months prior with full refund. They took advantage of a young person and during Covid. They must truly be awful people!

I loved everything about our room! Beautiful high ceilings and wallpaper. It was charmingly decorated appropriate to the house with antique furniture and velvet drapes. I loved the dimly lit fireplace and comfy robes at night. The king size bed was so comfortable and bedding superb. The staff was friendly. We took a stroll out on the main street and the town is just as charming. We visited on a Sunday, so not a lot of stores were open, but don't miss the bake shop nearby! Yummm. Cannot imagine how anyone could call this historic house "average"; must be the competition. The restaurant is closed because of Covid, but there are nice eateries in walking distance so it wasn't a problem. The price is a little more than we usually spend, but definitely worth it. My only caveat was that in the ads it appeared that a Jacuzzi tub was in every room. If you want that, make sure to call and reserve, because I was disappointed to find we only had a shower ,(even though the bathroom was beautiful and spotlessly clean).

I don't think we had the best stay the staff at the Big Tree could have provided for us. We first stayed in the Mark Twain suite. The jacuzzi was the best part of the room and the hot water was nearly instant. The room wasn't very clean. They do not have electronic locks on any of their rooms. When we were leaving to visit Letchworth Park, the door handle to our room broke, trapping me inside our room and my husband outside of it. When a staff member was finally able to remove the door handle, we switched rooms. The bed in our second room, the Bethia suite, was creaky and I felt every time my husband moved in the slightest. Our final morning, we were woken up an hour before checkout time by housekeeping services trying to get into our room despite the do not disturb sign on our door.

Disaster because they can’t handle online reservation according to front desk. Need to go back to stone tablets I guess

Always a great experience even in these trying times!

When we reserved, the website did not say anything about the continental breakfast being removed. The Inn did not attempt an alternative which could have been done with grab and go or a voucher to a nearby restaurant. They did nothing, but indicated that the prices were lowered from last year. I would not know this to be true, but I agreed to the price thinking that breakfast was included. The room was average. It is not up to date and the amenities were lacking. Each time we turned on the tv, we had to wait for the cable to reset. The lighting in the room was very dim and required you to open the shades, so there was no privacy. At night at the end of evening, the workers/patrons were exceptionally noisy leaving the building, doors slamming and loud voices. Maybe other rooms are better, but I would not recommend the Village View room. As well, when we arrived, the woman who checked us in was less than inviting and was borderline rude. Maybe that set the tone for the visit. We enjoyed all other locations and places we visited in the town and surrounding areas and love the little town. We will be back, just we will stay elsewhere. Overall, not worth the price.

A one night stay, this inn has wonderful charm, had an updated ensuite bath and was well kept and clean. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. It is nicely located on main street in town within walking distance to some nice eateries and small parks. We stayed in the smaller Seneca Room on the third floor which did only have stair access. Twin mattresses were comfortable. Parking on site.

This place had nice rooms but bad everything else. My wife and I stayed 3 nights. First night was ok, room was nice but not as clean as it should have been. Second night was fine. During the third day my wife got locked inside her room. The maintenance person arrived to open the door and found it would be more complicated than just using a key. They asked me if I was "in a hurry" to get in. I explain, once again, that my wife is in the room and we were trying to leave. After about a half hour or so they were able to get in but the door is broken. They transfer us to another room and we leave for the day. We spend the last night there and then 20 minutes before we are going to wake up cleaning services attempt to enter the room while we are sleeping, despite the do not disturb sign hanging on the door. We yell to them that we are in the room and they attempt to enter two more times before I get up and open the door to tell them we are in there. Overall the rooms themselves were nice but they had a way of making you feel like you were putting them out by staying there.

My husband and I just got married this past weekend at Big Tree Inn and it was perfect! Erin, the Catering Manager, was so helpful! The staff was incredible, the food was amazing, the building was GORGEOUS and clean, and during covid they kept everything socially distant and safe! We really couldn't have asked for a better wedding and can't wait to enjoy our anniversary there again! Thank you Big Tree Inn!

We made a reservation 4 days in advance for dinner on Saturday night. I left my name and phone number with the reservation. When we arrived on Saturday night after an hour and 15 minute drive, the restaurant was closed. They had no record of our reservation. We had to find somewhere else to eat. We are extremely disappointed with the hospitality and customer service. The woman at the front desk said the manager would call me about the mishap. I have yet to receive a phone call. All in all, completely disappointing.
