Love this place. It feels like this place should be in hamptons. Plenty of space to enjoy your meal. The egg sandwich with bacon was lovely. The avocado toast had real flavor and the chickpea salad sandwich was one of the more unique items I have seen at a cafe. I would come back or recommend in a heartbeat. Wifi service is a little spotty but otherwise great place. Clean bathroom too.

The best place.
Dear SDC, I get that renovations are temporary, but a full month of the same drill going non-stop? It’s like you decided the soundtrack of your café should be “endless screws being drilled.” At least switch it up—throw in a saw, a hammer, something. A café is supposed to be a place to relax, not a hardware store demo.

Such a gem of a café! The coffee here is excellent—smooth, rich, and beautifully crafted. The atmosphere is bright and relaxing, with lovely decor and a cozy vibe that makes it perfect for a slow morning or afternoon. The location is convenient, and what really makes this place stand out is the staff: incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. You feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. Definitely one of my favorite spots for great coffee and a great experience!

While the staff is friendly, they fall extremely short when it's busy. I can only assume they are short staffed. I ordered a simple avocado toast to go and waited 40 minutes for it just to be told they misplaced the ticket. There was only 2 people ahead of me when i ordered but i watched all 10 people behind me get their food first. This was after I explicitly asked if they can check on the order three times and they told me it's in the works. As this is happening, I watched another lady wait 40 minutes (I timed it) for her food. She wanted to cancel her order and honestly so did I but at that point I had already waited 20 minutes.. I ordered an avacado toast. They were apologetic after I waited 40 minutes that they misplaced the ticket but at that point I can't get the 40 minutes I wasted back. To wait 40 minutes for an Avacado toast is ridiculous and I will never be risking having that experience here again. If you value and respect your time, just get the drinks, skip out on food. This was an extremely frustrating experience, as I rooted for this business heavily in the past. I can also agree as per other reviews, their Wifi never works.

Leaving this review for Kat’s amazing hospitality. She went out of her way for us with a smile on her face despite how busy she was on a Saturday morning. Great ambiance, coffees, food, and excellent customer service thanks to Kat & the rest of the team.

Staff incredibly rude. They don't listen to details, ordered 2 items waited 25 minutes and they yessed us and forgot 2nd item. Did not apologize, 34 dollars, never gave us receipt.
Arrogant
i’m going to delete this post my apologies. It was the Northport location that I was referring too.

Southdown Coffee in Glen Cove is one of my favorite local spots. The coffee is consistently great — smooth, well-balanced, and just what I need to start the day. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which adds to the cozy atmosphere.
It’s also a perfect place to study or get work done. You’ll often see med and vet students here with their laptops and textbooks, which gives it a quiet, focused vibe. Comfortable seating, good lighting, and great coffee — what more could you ask for?
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a solid cup of coffee and a chill spot to be productive.

I'm sick of coming here buying an expensive coffee and pastry then sitting down to work and the Wi-Fi never works. Then you asked the staff whats up w the Wi-Fi and they are clueless. Stop offering WiFi if it never works. (response to owner) I in fact asked several people with laptops if the wifi was working before I confronted the staff, most of them told me they were using hotspots. I don't mind trying the wifi again the next time i'm in the area. However, you should be aware i didn't post this after a single experience, this was probably the 3rd time it happened in sequence covering 2-3 months when I was in the area. If the situation is resolved in the future I don't mind deleting or reversing the review.
Cozy cute coffee shop ☕️
Cute and cozy. Had a delicious chai latte. Looking forward to trying the wine bar next time!
Southdown Coffee is my favorite coffee shop on LI. The quality of the coffee, friendly staff and beautiful shops all keep me coming back.
I don’t live very close to any of their locations but love to begin a weekend at Glen Cove or Oyster Bay (expanding soon). Northport and Patchogue are also inviting spots. I recommend trying their Hot Oatmeal, Little English, Avo Toast, Grilled Cheese Avo Pesto, fresh Baked scones, bread, muffins etc. ALL are delish!
