“Oak and Vine in Glen Cove, NY, offers an exceptional dining experience that combines fantastic food, excellent service, and an inviting atmosphere. I’ve been wanting to visit since it opened, and I finally had the chance during my recent trip to Long Island.

I arrived with a large group of eight, and we were seated together by the piano, which provided a lovely ambiance. My guests enjoyed sampling the wine at the bar before I arrived.

To start, we ordered appetizers: Crispy Calamari and Quinoa & Beets. The calamari was well-fried and plentiful, making it a hit at our table. The Quinoa and Beets complemented each other beautifully, and the presentation was pleasing to the eye.

The entrees were outstanding. We enjoyed Bucatini Bolognese (ground beef, marinara, fresh ricotta, and focaccia bread crumbs), Rigatoni (lobster meat, Calabrian chili pepper, and light tomato cream sauce), Filet Mignon (roasted asparagus, buttermilk mashed potatoes, and au poivre sauce), and New York Strip (shallot-roasted fingerling potatoes, rainbow carrots and cauliflower, and red wine sauce).

The Bucatini Bolognese was rich in flavor, and the portion size was more than enough. The meat was well-seasoned, and I would definitely order this again. The Rigatoni stood out to me as well, as the cream sauce was delectable, and the lobster was cooked to perfection. I devoured it quickly because it was that good. The Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful flavor, as did the New York Strip. You can tell the steak is high quality, as they cook it to your preference.

Our server was exceptional, and I felt compelled to let the manager know how well she handled a busy Saturday night while training another employee.

“The dining room is beautiful , the waitstaff was helpful, and the food was authentic. Each diner has an induction burner to boil the hot pot, but they are not hot to the touch.

“I stop into Southdown Coffee at least four times a week, and it’s honestly the highlight of my day! Their cappuccinos, cortados, matcha lattes, and espresso tonics are all amazing—I can’t pick a favorite. Sometimes I even double up and swing by on my lunch break for an extra caffeine boost and grab one of their delicious avocado pesto or chickpea salad sandwiches. And don’t even get me started on their baked goods—they’re absolutely to die for! This place is a must-visit for coffee lovers and foodies alike.”

“Wineries with high ratings on Untapped, their wines are very popular in China.
I went last week, and it had just opened when I went. The environment is very good, the decoration style is like a log cabin, very high-quality. Their family is famous for their very grassy and juicy IPA. I had their Ipa, stout and guest cider. It's worth mentioning that their cups are great too. The clerk is enthusiastic.”

Umbertos manages the appetite of my wife and mine each and every Friday evening and most definitely do an extraordinary job (to say the least) and my wife and I couldn't be happier. The owners along with their Umbertos staff are"The Tops" as Mel Tormae would say. “I was greeted well by the server at the register and she helped me pick a sandwich, chips and drink meal. Prompt, kind, friendly and attentive to whatever questions I had, my experience throughout was good. There was no room for complaints. The sandwich was good not out of this world but I didn't expect to be blown away either. Sometimes you want a simple sandwich, chips and a drink to wash it all down and I think anyone looking for something simple and fresh will enjoy coming here.

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of seats both inside and out, you will not regret bringing your kids along to enjoy a meal here. The decorations inside are also very thematic to the atmosphere and food.”

My Dad and many of his cousins were fortunate to have the bakery just down the hill. My Dad often spoke of how the bakery was a pit stop on the way to Morgan's Park to get into various shenanigans. Please frequent this bakery, since it is so very old and very much part of the Landing's identity.”

“Typical Chinese takeout place, yello fried rice versus the typical brown, the chicken was flat white meat versus the dark meat chunk style on my chicken and cashews but it had a decent flavor. Soup was standard nothing overly good or bad about it. Egg roll was crispy and fresh, I'd eat here again.”

At one point, one in our party wanted coffee, so we decided to look around for a place for coffee, and found Cafe Nico's. The cappuccino was delicious, and I also had a flaky pastry filled with a vanilla custard sauce. Since the cafe is Italian, I cannot refer to it as a croissant. This is one of the few places that is cash only. I look forward to returning, the first chance I can.”

“I accidentally discovered SoBol while I was walking around, but I’m very glad I did. I got a kids size coconut smoothie bowl (I wasn’t sure if i’d like it) with some nutella, and it was delicious. I also got a spirulina smoothie and it was so good that I’ve visited SoBol twice more to satisfy my cravings! My brother got a Chocolate Cacao smoothie, and he absolutely loved it, he finished it in approximately 5 minutes. He would recommend it for kids or for adults with a sweet tooth!”

“At first it might feel like a generic take out spot, and to be fair it is, however as I waited for my order and went ahead and ordered more, I noticed something very strange. I was patient, polite but also direct with what I wanted and communicated it well. At the end, I left with a smile on my face because they reciprocated all of the things I mentioned and then some by making sure I got enough sauces and thanked me three times. It is the little things that makes you return to a business and I sure will. They have $10 card minimum but take cash. My total was $16 for a double sautéed pork and fried rice combo the side and something similar but with shrimp with lobster sauce. I was happy to leave them the $20 and was on my way to enjoy the food. Overall it was a great experience so I think anyone patient enough should give this place a try.

Parking: You can park on the lot that the store stands on or park along the street that has ample parking for almost 6 cars.

Kid-friendliness: Enough seating for people to sit and eat, wait for their food for takeout, or come and go so there is no problem to bring your kids along.”

“The staff are everything at this location! Always warm and accommodating, they go above and beyond every time I’ve visited over the last couple of years (which is almost weekly). I feel like some of the crew here have been there for years - and their find connection to customers genuine. The coffee is often reliably brewed, unlike other locations where it can taste burnt and old; handcrafted beverages are always on point and if something is out of stock they’ll tell you BEFORE making the drink

“I have had the pleasure of eating dinner 5 times at Mazar Kabob. The experience has been consistently Excellent. The food is delicious, the staff is personable, gracious and friendly. The ambience is pleasant and conducive to quiet conversation where you do not have to shout across the table. Love the fact that you can eat a vegetarian meal or enjoy one of the many meat offerings. There are many good restaurants in Glen Cove and IMHO, this is one of the very best. It also is Halal and you can BYOB. Do not hesitate to bring your whole family to this remarkable restaurant.”

“I ate lunch with a colleague this afternoon. Baked clams had no flavor to them, no seasoning in the breading and served in a pool of vodka sauce, very small clams. The sausage and peppers were money, a good-sized portion with a very robust sauce. Side salad was very basic and served with a loose house dressing, good portion, however. House bread and herbed oil were amazing. Never asked if we wanted refills and didn't take plates off the table upon emptying them. We had to get our own forks, too.

Celiac friendly!! They were very knowledgeable on gluten free needs for our daughter and make many gluten free options!

Daniel was our server. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience….. Especially for a family with dietary needs, the restaurant experience can be difficult….not here!!

The food was delicious! Our daughter loves the chicken wings, and we had tacos, the burger, and Mexican salad. All food was wonderful! Definitely will be going back!

“Good food made fresh. Fair prices (even with inflation going crazy). Owners are always very nice and friendly. I normally order the beef with scallions or pork with garlic sauce. It’s always very good and large portions. Fried rice needs a bit more seasoning for my taste but husband loves it! I highly recommend this local small business. Only downside is that they have no online menu.
