I’m not even a beer drinker, but this one may have converted me — refreshing, flavorful, smooth, and just the right amount of tropical.

Noble Savage is known for creative small-batch craft beers, fresh pours, and a relaxed local taproom atmosphere, and you can really taste the care that goes into what they make. “I have had the pleasure of eating dinner 5 times at Mazar Kabob. The experience has been consistently Excellent. The food is delicious, the staff is personable, gracious and friendly. The ambience is pleasant and conducive to quiet conversation where you do not have to shout across the table. Love the fact that you can eat a vegetarian meal or enjoy one of the many meat offerings. There are many good restaurants in Glen Cove and IMHO, this is one of the very best. It also is Halal and you can BYOB. Do not hesitate to bring your whole family to this remarkable restaurant.”

“It is a tradition old time confectionary shop you just don’t see anymore. You don’t even need a menu everything is deckhouse. Their breakfasts foods are my ultimate faves but it’s all good. Their ice creams and homemade chocolate is like no other. The self distancing and mask 😷 rules are practiced to the maximum. Very safe place to eat inside. Very self distanced.”

Leo’s Deli in Glen Cove is absolutely phenomenal. From the warm greeting at the door to the incredible hospitality, Leo and his family always make you feel welcome and cared for. On October 2, 2025, Leo graciously hosted the very first Women Veterans Only Listening Forum, and he went above and beyond in providing a phenomenal menu of our choice.

We enjoyed a full dish of pork, rice and peas, sweet plantains, jambalaya rice, and other delicious offerings — every guest raved about the food, especially the jambalaya rice and pork. Everything was flavorful, plentiful, and served with genuine heart.

But what makes Leo’s truly special is Leo himself. No matter how busy the day, he always makes sure I eat well — and eat healthy. His kindness, along with his wonderful family (including his son), shines through in everything they do.

Leo, thank you for taking the time to listen to women veterans’ issues and for leaning in, responding, and helping us rebuild — starting with the nourishment of a wholesome meal. You have my deepest gratitude for your generosity and your heart.”

“Exactly what I was looking for. I was working out on the island and just googled a local deli to stop in at on my way home, and I lucked out so much. This place is way better than your standard deli, maybe a dozen hot and delicious steam tray options that all sound delicious, I personally went with the oxtail. Food was so tasty especially with their house made hot sauce, and at a very fair price. The fellas behind the counter were also very kind and good talking to. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area.”

“I do not recommend going to the bar! Terrible service!! This past Labor Day my husband and I decided to go back to this place for our second time, since our first time was a great experience. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the service overall. This time we decided to sit in the back because they had a DJ and good ambiance. The bar seating was perfect and beautiful water view. Since it was a beautiful evening we decided to order a nice COLD bottle of white wine along with our meal. Unfortunately the wine we wanted “supposedly” they didn’t have…..but it seemed as our very young bartender was having a bit of trouble trying to put that in the system, so she came back to see if we have a second choice. So we chose. We waited more than usual, but did come eventually………to our disappointment the wine was room temperature. So we expressed our dissatisfaction about how is it possible to serve white wine at room temperature. She suggested we put our bottle in an ice bucket because there’s no colder wines, and that would be the coldest! But then that wouldn’t solve the issue as she thought. We still had warm white wine to drink. So, once we said sorry we just can’t, she decided to leave the ice bucket unattended on the bar and ignore as completely even though we pushed the wine to the side. Since she was completely ignoring us, I got up and went to the side of the bar and called her and asked to speak to whoever was in charge of the wines. With a great attitude she had someone called that person. Once we spoke to him I asked how is it possible to serve room temperature white wine?! the excuse was that maybe she chose the one they just put in. So he advised us to change our wine completely. We ordered French and he suggested a Greek wine because they have that one very cold. After he brought the wine, he left it inside ice bucket unattended. Not even asked if that wine was ok! We had to remind the other very young bartender if we could have our wine. Since our bartender still was ignoring us. We kept the bucket with us just incase so we can serve ourselves. Food came and was delicious! We got the appetizers and after a little while our main course. But empty plates were still there from appetizers. The food runner had to make space to put our main course on the bar top. Main course was done and empty plates were there for so much longer than they should. But she was attending other guest while ignoring us. I started staking the plates, when she noticed she asked the other bartender to clear up the area. My husband wanted dessert so we asked someone else for it. And then we added a couple of frangelicos and this is when she came around again! Nope! Sorry! To not make the story longer our bill came to almost $300. We didn’t think she deserved any tip at all. She ruined our experience. We made the best of our last days of summer. Yes I could’ve had the manager and complain but that would have ruined our evening and our meal. So I told my husband just give her $25 though I thought that was WAY too much, but to show her that we are descent people and that she’s not doing us a favor by serving us because she’s a lousy person with No bartending etiquette and she shouldn’t be behind the bar! And yes we made sure tip wasn’t included already!!”
